The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Work is okay right now Rose. I've about 9/10 of the way given up on this video project. The deans won't even respond to my email about it now. Therefore, I have determined that they aren't all that concerned at present!
Our internet has been down for a week or so. THAT was a funny office politics story! Makes for an awefully claustrophobic feeling when one is accustomed to being able to get out via the web all the time... but yet, the office goings-on were hilarious!
I have not seen hide nor hair (hehehe) of Hair nor ecurbh tonight!

And some of my friends and a cousin used to use them for song lyrics. That was a LONG time ago. :-)

I'm no poet, though I'd like to be. My poetry tends to unravel into prose ...

Lots of mine was kinda cheesy. I kinda like some of what I used to do that had a kinda of Texas cowgirl flavor. But, I haven't written any in years and years. There was a place in Waco that had monthly poetry evenings. I used to read there.
Also, Myranda writes quite a lot. Mostly prose but she writes some nice poetry as well. She did her first poetry reading at that place in Waco when she was 6 years old. Somewhere, in all this collection of paraphenalia I call possessions, I have the newspaper write-up of her first reading. She read a poem she'd written about angels. That particular night the mayor and city council of Waco were in attendance so it was well covered by the media. Myranda came off as the star of the affair! :-D </proud mama

Good morning!
Rose, we did hit the couch early.... and he is still snorin' now...

LOL! Well, according to The Book (Dr. Adkins New Diet Revolution), he should cut down on caffeine. And he has...on his own he's just drinking one (jumbo) cup a morning. He's going to be soooo excited in a couple of months when I tell him I got rid of it completely!
I hope...

Wasn't Torgo from Manos: The Hand of Fate helping manage the phones for the pledge drive? Yes, I think so.

Headache? - Perhaps you are the one having coffee withdrawls!
Horse-shoer coming today... not sure what else is on the agenda or whether it is still gonna be soggy rainy or clear up.
Oh yeah... we can pick up the custom pad for ecurbh's saddle today. Finally he'll be able to ride with a little security in the right saddle.
To: 2Jedismom
Wonder if he falls asleep at work because of caffeine deprivation.

I'm pretty sure of it. But I figure I might as well get off the stuff too...you know I drink a LOT of coffee...much more than he, just not as sweet. I like mine almost black. He likes his like ice cream.
No telling what just getting off all this caffeine will do for my health. I'm already off caffeinated soda, have been for a while.
