The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

No shaggy dogs?
<snapping fingers> Durn it!
Were there any furry guys there? That would more than make up for the lack of shaggy dogs ...!

They keep putting a chance of rain in our forecast but haven't seen any this week. You know one of the parts I liked best of the drive down to Houston for Lone Star Moot was all the plum trees in bloom! I love blooming plum trees and miss the ones I had in my yard at the old house. They're just too pretty for words. :-)

Master Sea-man, that sounds like a very shaggy dog story in and of itself!
To: Ramius
By way of explanation... there are whole *months* of the year 1982 that I don't really have recall. There are really just frames of moments. Some or most of which are not suitable for mixed company. :-)<staring at you with wide-eyed fascination and a wider grin>
Tagging those moments as "not suitable for mixed company" is just like introducing a cat to a catnip patch.
You know that, Master Sea-man.
And now I understand how you attract the chickie-poos at bars! What a fascinating strategy!

Tagging those moments as "not suitable for mixed company" is just like introducing a cat to a catnip patch. and then you notice he announces it's time to bail! What a tease!!!!
I think we should get him on the phone and demand stories! What think?

What a fascinating strategy! I would never do such a thing on purpose. It is merely by accident.
But... I gotta go... gotta head out...
To: Wneighbor
Nite nite... :-)
To: Wneighbor
I agree!
And wouldn't he enjoy that?
Oh, what a wise Mariner!
To: Ramius
Enjoy, Ramius!
To: Ramius
Well goodnight then! Leave us wondering!

And wouldn't he enjoy that? Well, it almost looks like he's runnin' away from this opportunity to have 2 ladies hanging on his every word!

Men are soooo contrary sometimes.
What did I miss around here?
To: Rose in RoseBear
I hate to say it but I probably don't know a whole lot more than you do. Our internet was down at work all this time and I haven't been able to keep up! That's why I didn't know ya'll were sick.
But, there was a beautiful wedding invitation posted by ecurbh and hair earlier this week! Did you see that?

Yes, I did see that ... ecurbh has skills, doesn't he?
Which is why I'm trying to get his attention ...did they hit the couch?
WN, how's work treating you?
