The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

But not yet weary are our feet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Oh did he play! He played guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, and when he passed away, his new hobby was repairing/restoring instruments and bows.

OH, yes...NOW I remember your talking about it!

Having a stupid day, I guess!

Aw...that's nothin'. You should have been here for some of the OTHER discussions we've had!

Horse boobs, pet smells, catbox crunchies and how to keep dogs from stealing 'em, horse poo, and much, much more!

Oh, the things you have to look forward to if you continue to hang out here!

Interesting site, actually...if graphic, as any surgical photos would be.

Yeah - A dog had a ball in his stomach for 10 years... heh.

Did they remove the rest of the mammaries in your cat or just the one? I thought it was interesting in that one case where they could lift all the mammary glands as one unit.

Oh - in your graphic history of the thread.... you forgot to mention Bay's annual sheath cleaning.

I have been going through some old pictures, and found a pic of BC from 1992.

I just meant talking about removal of digestive gear while someone was trying to digest. You should hear some of the stories my little sister the Vet student tells about her classes and labs :P ug

"So then in parasitology class we..."
"lalalala I can't hear you lalalala"
"-As long as your arm! So we took these forceps and-"
"not listening laaaaaaaaaaaaa lalalalala"
"and that was not nearly as bad as_"
"Ok just stop talking. I am going over that way."

She is so sadistic.

I don't think he removed all, but did remove a fairly large amount of tissue - it's a rather big incision...which probably explains much of why she's been just staying in one place a lot of the time. I imagine it hurts...or feels stiff at least. I just hope it heals quickly. Having a pet that doesn't feel well is tough.

LOL!

After growing up with five brothers, there are few conversations that could disgust me enough to stop eating. Seemed like those kinda subjects ALWAYS came up at the dinner table, too! Used to drive Mom nuts sometimes...

Yep, that is the whisker. It comes and goes. Everytime it grows back white though.
