The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Tea... hmm... but I dislike warm drinks.Hmmm--I figure there's probably another way besides tea you could find the same active ingredients (eleuthero, ginger, and chamomile in Tension Tamer; kava, feverfew, and rosemary in Head-Aid Tea). Or I guess you could drink it cold :) It's better than headaches--or losing your liver. . .BTW, can I have your liver? :)
There are also exercises that can sometimes help. One is to lie on your back, raise your head as if looking at your toes, and breathe slowly and deeply for up to 3 minutes; then lower your head, take a few deep breaths, and relax.

What about a dream where I'm at the office with a machine gun, and I'm walking around but just shooting people's coffee cups out of their hands?
Is that bad?

But I also have dreams about being back in school and I either forgot the combination to my locker, don't know what class I'm supposed to be in, or can't FIND my class. (Or don't have clothes on, but that's something else! heehee)I have these, too :) Another version of this I have is that I go to my high school graduation and discover I forgot to take one class I needed to graduate, so I've got to go back to summer school--talk about a nightmare!!! :)

Just tired from work, and still recovering from my cold.
Found out I have another five weeks of work after this, at the same place. Long drive, but at least the pay on this new contract should be higher than the one I'm finishing.

And then I have this SNAKE thing. I'm not afraid of snakes when I'm awake, but I have these dreams where everywhere I turn there are snakes and I can't get away from them ...In a book about snake-worship cults called The Cult of the Serpent, a scholar named Balaji Mundkur cited studies showing that all higher mammals have an instinctive fear reaction to the image of snakes, and even in human cultures which come from areas with no snakes people may have nightmares about snakes. It seems to be a very deep subconscious fear even in people who aren't consciously afraid of snakes. I will sometimes have nightmares about being near a pool of snakes and/or other threatening reptiles--and fish--there are a few other scary animals that often serve the same function in my dreams. I think maybe that when the subconscious wants to symbolize fear it naturally picks the image of a threatening animal. Freud mentioned that most little kids have nightmares about animals from the zoo.

Is that bad?I wouldn't talk widely about that one...

I think it must relate to some kind of completion anxiety. I'm shooting up the office but can't bring myself to destroy anything more than the glassware.

A beautiful letter PQ, and brought tears to my eyes. I'll continue to pray for him, and for you.

OK... actually it's not a dream I'm really having. It's a dream I'm only thinking about having.

I think the 'running without getting anywhere' symbolism is supposed to mean you feel out of control or helpless.Yes, I think that's another thing that can trigger it. Sometimes I think the symbolism in dreams comes from the body and the mind picks an image that represents what the body is feeling, and sometimes I think it works in reverse where the mind is in a certain mood and it expresses it through an image associated with a certain bodily feeling, like in this case losing physical control. Pretty interesting to me to try to figure out how all that works! :)

For some workplaces, that sounds pretty normal :) BTW, in this dream do you work at a post office? :)

good nite everyone ... i'll try not to be such a stranger!

OK... actually it's not a dream I'm really having. It's a dream I'm only thinking about having. So it's a daydream about a dream, which would be a dream within a dream--okay, you're making my head hurt! Could you send an attachment of Wild Turkey, please? :)

good nite everyone ... i'll try not to be such a stranger!Have a good night!

Could you send an attachment of Wild Turkey, please? :) I tried to do that. I poured a shot into the keyboard, but now my computer is just staring back at me and won't respond. It just giggles.

The dream within a dream stuff gets kinda' spooky sometimes. You wake up from a scary dream... then wake up again... and again...
Takes me a couple of hours at the office to finally decide that the waking-up part is over for today. :-)

Nite nite...
