My "Action" dreams are me running from a wild maniac who wants to kill me. Do you find yourself running but not getting anywhere? When I have running or chasing dreams, I trip and slip and get stuck or just seem to not be getting anywhere.
The only dreams where I get chased it is usually but larger groups of people because I stole the secret plans of something and I usually have other people on my side. Plus we usually have a car or laser pistols or something to make it more interesting. Did you ever have the dream where you went to sabotage the enemy ship and you forgot to wear pants?

Very chatsy hobbitses!
Not hard to feel like an ent at this party. You reply to something and the conversation is already WAY past that.

Another day slips slowly like a slug into the salt trap of history.

Yes, I get a lot of headaches. Reduced them by getting anti-glare lenses, but I eat ibuprofin like candy. In fact I get the candy-coated ibuprofin...I used to do that with Excedrin Migraine Aspirin for years, until a few months ago. I started drinking Tension Tamer and Head-Aid tea, and I've been able to quit taking Excedrin.

When we learned the books of the Bible, we used a song. It was really easy to learn but I don't know how to sing it for you online! But you could try looking for something similar. Anything's easier if it's a song. The Schoolhouse Rock method! :)

A few years I figured out a why to relax my head just so and make most headaches go away but I have never been able to explain it to anyone. It started when I figured out that I was making most headaches worse by thinking about the pain and sort of tensing up. By reversing that certain types of headaches go away. Not all types but the ones like sinus ones that seem most common for me.

Well here we go- Kimberly Locke singing. She's awesome- and my favorite from last season.
Tell Mr. S2R "El Paso" was exactly what I had in mind! Lots of great classic music from that era.

Hair; lol, back in the first age, there was one telephone for a wing of a dorm and it was at the end of the hall.

(HHD- and no, I didn't walk to school 5 miles uphill both ways)
To: TalonDJ
No, no "no pants" dreams I can recall... but I had a real-life day where I went to school without a shirt on.

That is what we had! - One pay phone on the floor, and when it rang, whoever was nearby answered it.

But actually I was thinking about music.Oh, that's what you meant--doh! :) I haven't checked what the library here has as far as music. I own a small but decent set of tapes and CDs that I usually put on if I want to listen to something.

On the dream thread .. I have a couple recurring dreams...
One is the basic being chased and can't get away dream.
But I also have dreams about being back in school and I either forgot the combination to my locker, don't know what class I'm supposed to be in, or can't FIND my class. (Or don't have clothes on, but that's something else! heehee)
And then I have this SNAKE thing. I'm not afraid of snakes when I'm awake, but I have these dreams where everywhere I turn there are snakes and I can't get away from them ...
hmmmmmmmm .. what could it all mean?
To: Fedora
Tea... hmm... but I dislike warm drinks.
Almost done packing. What else could I possibly need? I have chocolate, books, directions, camera, money... oh, yeah, and clothes.

A few years I figured out a why to relax my head just so and make most headaches go away but I have never been able to explain it to anyone. It started when I figured out that I was making most headaches worse by thinking about the pain and sort of tensing up. By reversing that certain types of headaches go away. Not all types but the ones like sinus ones that seem most common for me.That's similar to my experience. I can get some tension-related headaches to go away by relaxing certain pressure points, which can be done either mentally, manually by massage, or by stretching certain face muscles and the muscles in the neck and shoulders. However, this works better for certain types of headaches than others. If there's a major fluid build-up in the sinuses, I may have to clear that up by eating hot-pepper salsa or something like that, or by making sure I don't sleep in a position that the fluid builds up on one side of my head (for me it tends to drain to the right side, so sometimes I have to offset that by sleeping on my left side). Also, if I miss a lot of sleep I will eventually get a migraine no matter what I do, and even migraine aspirin won't help until I catch up on my sleep. So it depends; but some kinds will go away by relaxing, I find. Some things that help me are: flexing my shoulders and neck in various directions, moving my eyes around in different directions, yawning, and massaging certain points like the top of the skull, base of the skull, under the center of the eyebrow ridge, between the eyes at the top of the nose, the temples, and wiping my palms across my forehead horizontally and then vertically up and down my face like I'm rubbing my cheeks into a smile--smiling helps relax the face muscles :-)

>When I have running or chasing dreams, I trip and slip and get stuck or just seem to not be getting anywhere.Yeah...or for some reason I am running like I'm waist - deep in molasses, R-E-A-L slow, or one of my legs is numb or something. Or I have no shoes.
That happens to me, too. My theory based on some observations of when I have this kind of dream it that it can be triggered by falling asleep or turning over into a position that slows down the circulation in my legs. For instance one time recently I was dreaming that I couldn't move to my right, and when I woke up I saw I had fallen asleep on my right side with my right arm under me so that it had gone numb. Also, sometimes if my neck is in a weird position on my pillow I will have dreams related to that sensation.
Oh, and I'm always walking somewhere, even in my regular dreams - I seem to leave my car in odd places. A common dream is being stuck on a bad part of town and I have to walk home. Rather boring really ---it's just your garden-variety anxiety dream.
I've noticed that my dreams typically begin and end with me getting on a bus and going home, or something like that; and I've read that a lot of people have similar dreams about flying or turning into a bird; I tend to think walking/car dreams are often related to this category of dreams. My theory on that one is that it symbolizes the transition of the body from waking to sleep and vice versa, with the sense of "travel" symbolizing losing/gaining awareness of the body as one drifts into or out of sleep.
To: Fedora
I think the 'running without getting anywhere' symbolism is supposed to mean you feel out of control or helpless.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
That's true! any reason? - hybernating still?...
