You are right... it is a year now since Logan had to go.

Spring is a hard time I guess... Mom died on March 29, 1994.... been ten years. And step-dad Frank March 17 a year later.

I miss those anniversaries some times, because I am not good at dates... (I just warned ecurbh of that) But I am glad you helped me remember. Thanks.

Ugh, talk about nightmares - as soon as I got done with my run this morning, I realized that I had left my USB storage device - the most useful piece of hardware I own - in my jeans. And that the jeans had gone into the laundry. And that Mom does the jeans first....

Dad thinks it'll be ok since it didn't go into the drier but I'm seriously mad at myself about that one. And that was just how the day started.

Why are you the only person tomorrow?

Maybe it wasn't a good thing to remind you of! But...I was talking to Bill about your dogs for some reason, and showed him pictures of Logan and Zulu...and remembered it was almost a year.

One guy is out, three others are going to a meeting at another campus, and the fourth person isn't full time - she's officially a workstudy, but does a LOT, and is full time outside of the school year. However, this semester she's student teaching and is only in for a short time ever day. She may be able to log some of the evening phone calls from while we were out, but probably won't have time for anything more. And I'll be alone after that.

Hopefully the USB drive is OK! A lot of electronics are fine once they dry out...so hopefully your Dad is right.

Well, I guess you won't be on much tomorrow... though if you get too stressed out, you know where to come to yell.

Just tell everyone to live with their stupidity. See why I'm not technical support?

He's older than the hills, this kitty, upper teens.

That's a long-lived kitty! :) My cousin had one that got up to 12-16, I think. Mine lived to about 10.

She didn't like getting the antibiotic...but I don't imagine ANY of us would much enjoy someone pinning us down and squirting sticky, sweet pink goo in our mouth.

No, they don't like that!--my kitty sure let me know he didn't :)

But it tastes like bubble gum!

Sigh...the biggest problem is (and I'm not a network geek, so I only understand parts of this) that, in an effort to get stuff cleaned up, my boss is on a network blocking spree. He's been blocking students whose systems are creating a lot of traffic and causing network slowdown and such. We don't have the equipment to limit bandwidth by machine, and some students (who don't keep their systems updated or run ANY antivirus protection whatsoever) get infected with everyone worm under the sun and their systems basically do a DOS attack against our network and who knows what else.

Soo...he's been blocking them and asking that they clean up their systems and set everything to autoupdate, and having them bring their systems down for us to look at in order to verify that this is being done. Now...we DO have a small campus and we aren't talking about hundreds of kids, but since he wants us to help them get them updated before sending them back (to get reinfected since most will probably turn off any automatic updating and disable the antivirus software...sigh), it's taking FOREVER. I mean...do you have any idea how long it takes to update a W2K machine that has NEVER HAD A SINGLE UPDATE???

Plus we've been installing and explaining spyware detectors, trying to eliminate at least SOME worms, and telling them to get protection. Annnnnd half of them end up blocked again in a day or two for sending out suspicious packets again.

Did I mention I'm getting overwhelmed? And cranky? And think there's GOTTA be a better way of doing this?

Heh...it becomes obvious that we're using the same antibiotics for people and pets when they have bubble-gum flavored cat medicine!

I never really had to have anything like that when I was little. I can remember being almost jealous when my brother got ear infections, 'cause the bubble-gum medicine (which was actually what we called it) looked and smelled pretty good!

LOL! Gives me an idea for a Monty Python-esque tech support skit: "If your problem is that you're stupid, press 1. If you're merely incompetent, press 2. If you're too dumb to use a touch-tone menu, stay on the line and we'll be with you after we get done handling about 100 other calls that involve even worse problems than yours, so if you think you've got problems remember that before you get too impatient being put on hold. Oh, and by the way--you're welcome!" :)

Good going on getting the workout in this morning! Sorry to hear you've got a headache again--do you get that a lot?

I'm going out to eat for supper, so I'm about to head out here. Will be back later--been working on my story idea some more.

Ouch. That sounds really, really painful. I know how long it took my brand new computer to get its first set of updates, and there were only about two!

Just put a sign on the door blaming sunspots for any network outages and hide in the ladies' room.

Yes, I get a lot of headaches. Reduced them by getting anti-glare lenses, but I eat ibuprofin like candy. In fact I get the candy-coated ibuprofin...

And when the dosage is way out of whack... When Bay went on his medicine for his foot pain, he was originally prescribed 10 pills per dose, morning and night!

And Fiona gets reg'lar old Benedryl before shots...she had a reaction once and they have me give it to her now just to be on the safe side.

I didn't get the cinnamon kind, though. I wouldn't even be able to measure that out without gagging. Nasty stuff! And I do like cinnamon...that's something else again.

Well, not quite candy. I rarely have more than two batches a day.

Er, two batches of four, but let's not tell 2J that. It hasn't killed anyone I work with yet...
