The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Steve is down 14 pounds now!
Very nice! I am trying to drop a few myself. I always seem to slack off in the winter and I never eat right. I think cutting out the cinnamon roll in the morning and kicking some exercise into gear should do the trick... but I do miss the cinnamon roll... so moist and tasty...

Morning!
Menu sounds good...except that I don't do artificial sweeteners.
Think I'll have some Eastern NC barbecue shipped in for Easter.

I have very odd dreams...and some of them ARE action movies, which is strange considering how quiet my normal life is. I have dreams where I'm doing things like carrying top secret info to a hideout in a foreign city, while being chased by bad guys who are trying to assassinate me and steal the information.
On the other hand...sometimes I have long dreams about being late for church.

Yeah, I have ones just like that. Or where I am a rebel freedom fighter or something. One of the most shocking ones I have had was the one were I was a vampire. I am not even into vampires. Some dreams are way to realistic.

Mmmmm....cinnamon roll...
Is it lunchtime yet?
Not that I get a cinnamon roll...but leftovers doesn't sound bad, either. My brothers came over and we had a pretty good meal, if I do say so myself. Steak and onions and broccoli with cheese sauce and such. Yum!

Guy at work here has offered to power wash and paint my house in exchange for G's riding lawn mower. Cool.
To: My back yard

No, it is the job foreman, the one I made a pass at, at the Christmas party. We've actually become pretty good friends since. Just friends, and the office is still laughing. lol oh well. Ya, deck boards replaced I'm already getting done. D and the boys are doing that. They want to turn the downstairs office area into a computer/play room. They want to rent it from me. So I'm putting them to work on a lot of stuff. I am so blessed with so many wonderful friends.
To: My back yard
Well! That is good news about the deck! I'm glad to hear it. And you do have many wonderful friends! :-)
I'm glad you and that guy are good friends now. That is not a bad thing either. And the teasing might be kinda fun. hehehe... I hope you give as good as you get! :-)

Where is everybody today? Working and embroiled in office politics. Grrrr.
Let me just say that I hate working for women. Shallow, indecisive, concerned more with appearances than competence.
I'm having a bad day.

Let me just say that I hate working for women. Ditto!!! And I still have that problem at the college. The people who give me trouble there are the women! Sad thing.
Office politics. Yuck! Shoot 'em all and be done with it!

Figgered that's what you were up to. I know it's going to be great with all this work you're doing. I've got lovely stuff coming up in my flower beds and yard too. :-) It's awefully good weather here for me to get out and work in it too.

Current
webcam view here. Still plenty of snow. I'm ready for spring. At least we're getting some warm temps later this week - supposed to be in the 50's!

Wow! Really snow! I'm far enough into spring that my daffodils already faded and the irises are coming in! I like my irises! :-)
