For the record, I'm repeating week five, starting with day one. I only did two workouts yesterday, and jumping right in with something I wasn't able to complete last time I did it didn't seem wise. But I did day one today.

Good idea--IMO it's definitely better to do something you can make sure you stick with than to push past where you're at. One of the most important goals of early training is to get in the habit of a set routine--more important than the actual content of the routine in the early stages, in my experience.

BTW, I was able to do my first full workout since getting the flu yesterday--felt good! :)

Metallica is classical music, no?

Uh. . . .no :) Beatles is classic rock--Metallica is classic metal, maybe :)

My favorite classical music is mostly Baroque but also some 19th century stuff, esp. Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Strauss. I play piano, too, though not very well yet.

Well, I'm beat- and really outta shape. But I got a lot accomplished and love it.

This weekend I:

Faux finished and installed a small decorative shelf in the guest bath
Did a metric ton of laundry- getting ready to put winter stuff away.
Installed an overhead light fixture in my sewing room. (This was quite comical because my step stool isn't quite tall enough...)
Installed curtain tieback hooks in two bedrooms.
Purchased and loaded (no help from Home Depot employees grrr) transported and unloaded 920 lbs of hummus/manure, peat moss, sand and soil. This took two trips.
Purchased, loaded (with the help of the local lumber yard employees *yaaay*), transported, unloaded, and moved to the backyard 32 cinderblocks. Again two trips.
Primed and painted said cinderblocks a strange shade of green.
Planted my shade bulbs in their pots: astilbe, VA bluebells, and a shrubby poppy.
Made fun of Doughboy. (The footers are now seven blocks tall...)
Vacuumed and did floors.
Made a cheesecake, a batch of yogurt dough, and cooked 5 lbs of hamburger.

Am gonna sleep well tonite. Uploading pictures of the garden's progress and Doughboy's engineering monstrosity will have to wait for another day.

What a handsome sailor! I don't believe there will ever be another generation quite like that one. Prayers for your comfort and strength, and that of your family's.

Uh. . . .no :)

Sure it is! You just haven't been paying attention. :-)I play piano, too, though not very well yet.

I am barely intermediate. I can pull off a few concert pieces -- like Clair deLune and Chopin preludes but I'm far from "good." (that is, people who don't know crap about classical music think I'm pretty good. That really doesn't count.)

Miscellaneous stuff we've worked on lately when the camera was gone!

New fencing for the yard that will be puppy-proof, and moved shrubs between us and the trashy redneck neighbors...

We moved the gate and added an escape out the end in preparation for an eventual new horse for Bruce. (And new puppy-proof fencing)

The old way, a horse could get cornered in there if there were a pushing match to get to the gate, and now there is escape at both ends.

Old way:

Did my run. Ugh. That was really hard. I think the weight lifting is making my muscles get sore more quickly.
