The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Dear friends of The Hobbit Hole:
|
We would love for all of our dear friends from The Hobbit Hole who think they will be able to come to freepmail us their address, so that we can send a more complete invitation and information via snail-mail.
For those that will not be able to join us, we are looking into having a live webcam set up, so you won't be left out!
Sincerely,
Ecurbh and HairOfTheDog
P.S. We hope we pinged everyone, but if by some grievous error we missed anyone, please know that this invitation is extended to all who know us!

Thank you. I haven't had it in a long time either. Here's hoping you will have many more years of freedom from it...
It could be worse...I'm enjoying just being able to sit around and do nothing without feeling guilty. I think I may pop in a movie in a little while.

What a lovely invitation! What's the translation of the text at the top?
To: Penny1
You mean you don't know!?! ;~D
It is "A star shines on the hour of our meeting," the greeting Frodo gives Gildor Inglorion in FotR.

Thank you...
I am overdue for this, so I shouldn't be too bummed out about being sick.
Do you have anything planned for your birthday celebration?
To: RosieCotton
Oh, today the ones you sent did the trick just fine! I love them! :-)
