Let me know about the dates that work for you - just as a consideration, what about the weekend of the 4th? I could probably get a little extra time off then, easy. Though I don't know what travel costs would be like.

I'm not listening. Not listening.
Ugh, this is a long evening... whoa, almost seven. Maybe I can go home soon.

Then you can pop in your Rankin-Bass RotK and hear the song!!! :)
So how's your long day been?
To: Fedora
Long!
Some of my fellow commuter students and I are passing around a petition begging the campus police to ticket a few of the most egregious violators of the parking policy. The commuter lot has maybe 150 spots, and close to a third of them are always occupied by resident student cars... it's the worst part of the whole school situation.
But school was mildly good, and work's not bad, just boring.

Oooh, that's a nice dress. That's one of my favorite styles right there, with the fitted bodice and cap sleeves... I don't like all that lacy stuff you see on other gowns.

Well, if I were getting married in a cathedral, I can dig a fancy dress.... but it wouldn't work at the beach, and it wouldn't be comfortable. I am a really informal person. So we went with the little Hawaiian dress.

Long!I knew I was setting myself up for that one :)

Sticking a small potato in their exhaust pipe also works. . .

Where I work, both resident students and commuters park in the staff parking lot...I end up illegally parked at least once or twice a week. If they actually ENFORCED things, it might actually work. There's plenty of student parking...it's just a little further from the building where I work...which isn't even necessarily closer to class for most of them. Nicer lots, too. Ours is just a little strip.

Just out of curiosity, and with no intention of ever doing such a thing: what does the potato do?

Sigh... it's a pain to try to be law abiding when everyone makes life difficult for you. There definitely isn't enough parking on campus, not in any of the lots; but the commuters have it worst, because the on-campus people will park their cars when they get done partying, at two am, and then when we show up, there's nowhere to park.

What really bugs me is that for the most part, it's the same people over and over...I know their cars. Most of 'em are out of state - obviously resident students. And yet no one does anything to stop them. I've never seen a ticket on any of their cars.
But of course, when my parking sticker expired, I got a ticket almost immediately. My own fault, of course...but why are they policing staff more than students?

If I had $1300 to lay down, and if I had the body, I'd get this one. (I want us to renew our vows--Mr. S2R and I got married by a JP at the spur of the moment, and I was wearing pants. It'll be 14 years come June 4th.) I'm a big medieval fan and I love these Lindsay Fleming dresses!

Because you'll pay, and the students ignore the ticket?

That could be, I suppose.
I actually just got a warning ticket. Didn't have to pay. But it still bothers me, since they NEVER even get warnings.
