Prayer request
me
Posted on 03/05/2004 7:39:53 AM PST by babyface00
I'm not the most religious person, and I seldom post a vanity thread (please excuse me if this is posted in the wrong place), but I figure we all could use a few prayers on our way out of this life.
If you happen to read this in the next hour or so, please say a little prayer on behalf of my grandmother as she is expected to pass away after a long illness shortly.
Thanks.

Iam praying for Jesus' will in your and your grandmother's life. Thank you for posting this prayer request. A prayer request is never out of order.
Do you believe in Miracles?
There are about 36 instances of Jesus working miracles. Some of these involved multitudes of people so it is impossible to know how many people in all got healed during Christs ministry.
Do you believe in miracles? Especially healing miracles.
The central core of the Christian faith is the virgin birth, the death, resurrection and ascension of Christ into heaven (Acts 1 - 3). Without believing this you cannot be a Christian.
If you can believe that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, why is it so hard for you to accept that he opens blind eyes and restores sick bodies? If God still saves He still works miracles.
Our very faith is all about the miracle of God coming into our lives.
Read the following accounts from the gospel and let them stir up your faith to receive a miracle from God. Miracles should be something we expect in our lives and the people around us.
1. Changing water into wine
John 2:7-8

Do you believe in Miracles?
I'm definitely starting to wonder...
When I posted this at 10:30, neither I nor my family (nor the docs) expected her to make it past lunch. It's now 2:05 and the breathing apparatus (apparati?) were removed quite awhile ago.
Contrary to all expectations, she's now breathing on her own.
Don't know how long she'll keep going, but every second of life is a pretty precious thing.
Maybe I'll have to give some deeper thought regarding the first few words of my original post...

And most importantly, heartfelt thanks, to everyone who responded, and to those who didn't but still said a prayer.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that in Your hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. Thank You that this beloved Grandmother will remain with her family until You call her home. Thank You that even in this short time today, You have given awe and wonder to those who have stood vigil. May it be, O God, that she tarry until You have touched the hearts of those who need to know that You are Life Eternal. In the Name of Jesus, may it be thus, Amen ...
