Hidden Statement on "The Passion" Soundtrack? (vanity)

OK, this is probably going to sound like the tinfoil-iest of tinfoil observations. And I'll happily accept the inevitable bashing I'm going to get for this vanity.

Anyhoo, if you haven't done so yet and you have Windows XP, buy or borrow a copy of the soundtrack for "The Passion of the Christ" on CD. I got mine today, took it home, and was using Windows Media Player to copy it onto my hard drive when I noticed something odd.

In WMP, there is an option you can select called "Find Album Info." When you are logged onto the Internet, this option surfs the web, finds information about the CD you have in the drive, then returns it to WMP. One thing this option also does is fill in the names of each track on the CD in your media library. And this was indeed the case with my copy of this soundtrack - the program obediently went "out there," hunted down the name of the CD and the name of each track, then showed them to me. WITH ONE ODD EXCEPTION.

Track Number 11 is labeled on the CD box art as "Crucifixion." However, the track title returned with Find Album Info is spelled "Crucifiction" instead. This term is mockingly used by atheists to refer to the account of Jesus' sacrifice in the Bible.

So try it yourself and tell me if I'm seeing agnostics under the bed or not.

Moderator, this is probably a silly vanity and I won't shed a single tear if it gets nuked. But I did find this "coincidence" to be an odd one.

Probably just an honest mistake. If WMP is like other mp3 players, when you ask for CD info, it just queries a CDDB database to find the info. If someone asks for info on a CD, and the CD is not in the database, the database asks you to enter the song info into their servers. I'm guessing the first person who queried the CD entered the info and spelled it wrong.

This is extremely important ...My sound track is talking to me in Swahili and seems to know that this is my native tongue

Probably true. But the misspelling to me just seemed very odd. I didn't know the actual name of the music database out there with the title/track titles in it either - thanks for the education.

You obviously screwed up the Aramaic Language Support plugin when you configured your machine ;)

Given the sorry state of the public (government) education (indoctrination) system of this country, it was probably a genuine, honest mistake........

But then again...............

If you want to see what the entry looks like at one of the free CDDB servers, check this out: http://www.freedb.org/freedb/soundtrack/d70cb10f

You're probably right - a "where"/"wear" type of error. I'll simply file it under the "Odd Little Coincidences" pile and just listen to the exquisite music.

If you look at that link, "Crucifixion" is spelled correctly.

TTITLE10=Crucifixion

I wonder why it was misspelled when I ran Find Album Info?

One might suppose that this common misspelling was a product of skepticism were it not for the fact that it most often occurs in the writings of believers.

When I read the title to this thread I though you had played the sound track backwards and heard something like the following ...

.....&^#$squeal&^*$^$...(REPENT NOW, THE LORD IS COMING )....$%(*&Squeak#%^&....

I don't believe in accidents nor coincidences. I bet future C.D.s are minus this "typo" now that it's been outted.

So save your copy. One day its existence will be denied as an urban legend. 8~)

Crucifixion misspelling...most often occurs in the writings of believers."

In no way do I believe that statement. It is a liberal-leaning, God-denying lie.

Just because some doofus, "Paul Brians," writes a book and says something stupid is no reason to accept it as fact.

The Washington State University website, "Resources for the Study of World Civilizations," of which Paul Brians is webmaster, is filled with decidedly gnostic leanings. He gives the same credibility to pixies and elves as he does to Catholics and Jews.

We all need to read with more discernment. Every story has a by-line. It's just one person's opinion.

You'll note on the bottom of the page, "Linking to Common Errors in English," Paul has misspelled the word "Page" (Poage).

Just to set the record straight, the word is spelled correctly on the CD's liner notes. Its the titling returned from "wherever" when the disk is put into Windows Media Player that was misspelled.
