''Monster'' star and best actress nominee Charlize Theron never imagined awards nominations.
In fact, back when she was making the film she couldn't even envision a crowd of close to 1,000 sitting down together to watch the drama based on the life of lesbian serial killer Aileen Wuornos.
''When we closed AFI, 800 people watched it at the Dome. I never ever imagined 800 people watching this movie at the same time in the theater,'' Theron said from New York City, where she prepping for the film's junket.
She also had the added task of producing the film in addition to starring in it.
''When that credit comes on, I am very proud of that and proud that something new has entered my life.''

How different this is from another freaky lesbian movie where another woman, Hillary Swank, won best actress for being a butch in "Boys Don't Cry." This time the butch is a bitch. In the earlier one, I think 1999, the poor lesbian had always dressed up like a man and was murdered when some men found out.
Well, she ain't no butch, at least on Oscar night.

I'm surprised the libbies haven't complained about the movie. Maybe they like a woman being potrayed in such an aggressive (and murderous) way. Kind of sick.

Isn't this year two at the oscars for an actress to take home the big prize for playing a mentally ill lesbian? Wasn't Nicole a crazy lesbian last year?

In "Boys Don't Cry" I think that even the girl she was dating did not know her date was not a guy.
This film was about a woman who killed and killed again and claims it was self defense (she sure kept getting herself in a bad situation then).
There were 2 documentaries about her life (one in 1992 and one 2002). Both were nominated for awards (one at Sundance, the other an Amnesty International award). That she was executed in Florida with Jeb Bush as governor made this a high profile case for libs (especially since women rarely are executed anyway). Someone else pointed out that Lifetime did their own biopic.
This movie won because it was anti-death penalty. Just like the hobbled actor (sick, injured, or deformed) was a winning ingredient in years past. It's an "important" film. That means it tastes like pickled prunes but it's "good for you".

Actually, that's Naomi Watts - w/ boyfriend Heath Ledger. But she's a hottie, too.

If you saw the film, you'd know that it does not, in any way, glorify lesbianism. Just the opposite. What the award was for was acting, and Theron acted her heart out in this film.
It's a disturbing movie, to say the least. But what it isn't is a movie about nice lesbians you'd want living next door.

Naomi is ten times lovelier than Charlize.

Oh, yes it is. It's from the front page of the NY Post. I just assumed it was her.
Here's a correct photo:

I think that story was changed from:
Born a monster, behaved like a monster
To:
Born a human, abused by "evil" men, turned into monster
That's why "Monster" gets a break from Hollywood. The lesbian serial killer is portrayed as a more sympathelic figure than the real serial killer was.

Yeah, I found it hard to believe that the first picture I posted was of a woman who could be a lesbian. The second picture is more believable.

I wondered what that movie was about. I didn't see it.
To: GulliverSwift
Blech! She looks like a junior Glenn Close.

Yeah. I never said it glorified it. Either film. But I find it curious that, while trying to push the pro-gay agenda, Hollywood is churning out movies about crazy lesbians.

***I'm surprised the libbies haven't complained about the movie***
Any publicity is good publicity for them.
They've sold us the "white-washed" lesbian/gay character - now they'll start to show us the gross reality. Call it, "Conditioning Stage 2."
From an online review...
***What's so fascinating (and scary) about this film is that I actually began to sympathize with Wuornos! While I could never condone her actions you can see clearly what led her to it. This is a rare film--it makes a serial killer look sympathetic.***

Nicole Kidman was playing Virginia Woolf for her Oscar last year.

I think that while everybody knows they need to pretend to think of them as normal people, everybody knows that they are a little wacko.
