I don't see "made in God's image" any kind of problem. There are dozens of ways to make something in someone's or something's image.

Is God a slowly balding, middle-aged, pudgy Trekkie? Then one might not say I am in the "image of God." Is God a loving being, with (unlike the rest of the animal life on Terra firma) the ability to remember the past, make plans for tomorrow, consider and evaluate, understand Agape, and love His children? I think so.

I have always taken "let us make man" to mean that God, the Father, and Christ the Son (and assumedly the Holy Spirit) were all there at the Beginning of Space and Time, and all in on the Design.

I agree.

That's my conviction. But it doesn't automatically preclude other possibilities.

I once had 12 or so tapes by a former missionary to Amazonia. Had been so for 40 years. Was quite elderly and was describing his experience VISITING HEAVEN FOR 5 EARTH DAYS. He had prayed for 7 years to be able to visit Heaven and able to come back and tell about it.

I can't even remember his name nor find a clue about him on the web. But his narrative--between the old war stories of a missionary--his narrative about Heaven was at least interesting.

He claimed that in the Throne Room was a big window "on where God came from." Further, that EVENTUALLY, God was going to WRAP ALL THIS UP and TAKE IT BACK where He came from. What a claim! Where would an idea like that come from for an orthodox Evangelical Christian?

As best as I can recall, he also had some confirmations of Rolland Buck's book ANGELS ON ASSIGNMENT. But I don't recall what they were . . . beyond what I've already said about that in other threads.
