The Creation (1) 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was[1] on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. 4And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day. 6Then God said, "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." 7Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day. 9Then God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear"; and it was so. 10And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good. 11Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so. 12And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13So the evening and the morning were the third day. 14Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so. 16Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19So the evening and the morning were the fourth day. 20Then God said, "Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens." 21So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth." 23So the evening and the morning were the fifth day. 24Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind"; and it was so. 25And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 26Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[2] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." 29And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food"; and it was so. 31Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

As if...

Maybe I missed something that you have been trying to tell me. Are you seeing UFO'ism being combined with Christianity. That would be wierd. I guess I travel in pretty fundy circles when it comes to fellowship so I haven't experienced any of that.

But because you are Mr. Wonk could point out where the Bible says that there arent lifeforms beyond this planet?

The Bible is silent in regards to human interactions with other created beings outside of angels, both Holy and fallen. This doesn't mean there are no other created worlds, for I would think that a God that often refers to Himself as the "Creator" in His Word, probably has created other worlds. What's important to understand here is that other interactions with other created, non-angelic, beings is not referenced at all. Therefore any "alien" trying to pass this crap off on unsuspecting humans, carries a message contrary to the Bible and is antichrist. The best deceptions contain more truth than lie.

Read the first book and didn't see any point in reading further. Not my style: more of a David Weber fan.

The message has held up for two thousand years; why shouldn't it hold up for another thousand? The message is not about a Jewish Carpenter's son, it is about how to live. The Golden Rule has meaning no matter how advance a society gets.

Oh yes, both Quix and Chris Talk believe that God(YHWH) created a number of alien races, currently in contact with us, some are good some are bad. Although, I'm not currently sure how Jesus fits into their "crazy scheme". It's all New Age BS - synthesis of Christianity with some other crazy man made crap. I guess we should be expecting this.

How does reading a book about the unknown make one smarter? Anyones' opinion on the unknown is as valid as anothers. Just because something is written, doesn't make it true.

OHHHHH I guess I wasn't associating and of that sh*t with Christianity at all. I was afraid some Baptist or even Charismatic church was bringing that in. Ofcourse nothing the Methodists and other liberal churches do would surprise me. They threw the bible out a long time ago.

I'm not a theological expert, but it's really difficult to see how UFO'ism could be shoehorned into any mainstream take on Christianity, whether Catholic, Orthodox or Protestant.

If life exists on other planets, there would certainly be a lot of religious implications. However, trying to cram UFO'ism into the Bible seems to be impossible.

Things got "rollin'" again in my opinion with the speaking in tounges gibberish. The Charismatic movement is soaking this crap up like a sponge. Ironically enough, even the RC's have their own Charismatic movement now.

I had a Chinese (meaning from china, converted to Christianity later in life) molecular biology teach during my undergrad, who said the descriptions given by those who've go "bat-nutty" during these charismatic meetings, is the exact same way he felt every time he was posesed by a familiar spirit. Interestingly enough, he speaks several dialetcs of Mandarin, and is familiar with many more - Charismatics often blashpheme, the same God they think they are serving, when they start their babbling. He's heard it in Mandarin. It's not the kind of thing any Christian should be caught up in - bad for the soul.

What a wonderfully I Cor 13 response!

I'm not impressed with hit and run responses.

I very rarely rebuke people and did not in your case.

I was rebuking an idea, thought, assertion as I did not want satan to assume that I agreed with it. The rebuke was for his information, primarily.

I should be able to start a list of people too brittle for civil exchanges.

God's best to you. May you learn and grow in His truth and will as well as in His Love.

BTW, have passionately digested The Word for virtually all of my life.

Guess I didn't consider it a character slam. Sorry it came across that way.

I considered it a challenge to risk disturbing a tidy construction on the topic.

Appreciated your replies.

I notice you convienetly left out an explantion of the "sons of god" who came down and came into the daughters of men, from the story of Noah who were these they arent called angels but I suppose there is some strange translation problem eh? And how is it God goes from sons plural to a only singular son ?

Yes it sure does, hence my shock when I thought that was what I was hearing. As it turned out it was Quix theology which is certainly not the same thing as Christianity now is it. ;-)

Actually Catholicism is designed to be all things to all people. There is absolutely nothing that is excluded. If you like a Goddess, she is there, if you like theological legalism, it all over the place, if you sort of want to be a Jew they have that covered, how about gay, there are large gay sects of the Catholic church. But I blather.

I've heard all of this from my Baptist friends. I have no way to prove or disprove because I've never been in the company of a tongue episode {snicker} with an interpreter. Boy I just lost my concentration.

Umm... OK, tongues are not impossible but as it says int he bible, no tongues in church without an interpreter. That is never the case in these wierd charismatic churches.

Um. I haven't gone back to see what post you accuse me of manipulating, but the topic of scriptural use of "son/sons of God" is not trivial. The things that came down to earth and shagged human woman and made giants that were killed off in the flood must have been demons. No other explination works with the rest of the bible.

Who knows what their response to anything we do, or vice-versa? That understood, I think the basics would apply.

Hurt the aliens and/or their stuff, they hurt you.

The ET's need food, they will seek it out.

They need raw materials to build things, they will seek it out.

Etcetera.

Of course, if WE are the food and/or raw material, that would be, as they say, bad.

;-)
