I was afraid some Baptist or even Charismatic church was bringing that in.

Things got "rollin'" again in my opinion with the speaking in tounges gibberish. The Charismatic movement is soaking this crap up like a sponge. Ironically enough, even the RC's have their own Charismatic movement now.

I had a Chinese (meaning from china, converted to Christianity later in life) molecular biology teach during my undergrad, who said the descriptions given by those who've go "bat-nutty" during these charismatic meetings, is the exact same way he felt every time he was posesed by a familiar spirit. Interestingly enough, he speaks several dialetcs of Mandarin, and is familiar with many more - Charismatics often blashpheme, the same God they think they are serving, when they start their babbling. He's heard it in Mandarin. It's not the kind of thing any Christian should be caught up in - bad for the soul.

Actually Catholicism is designed to be all things to all people. There is absolutely nothing that is excluded. If you like a Goddess, she is there, if you like theological legalism, it all over the place, if you sort of want to be a Jew they have that covered, how about gay, there are large gay sects of the Catholic church. But I blather.

I've heard all of this from my Baptist friends. I have no way to prove or disprove because I've never been in the company of a tongue episode {snicker} with an interpreter. Boy I just lost my concentration.

Umm... OK, tongues are not impossible but as it says int he bible, no tongues in church without an interpreter. That is never the case in these wierd charismatic churches.

So, St Paul was lying when he said he would that all believers spoke in tongues.

And I'm supposed to respect your Biblical assertions?
