I'm glad your mom is alright. Isn't that just like a Mom to try to avoid medical help.
I actually wrote the post that you mentioned as a practicing blog entry. You know, there a numerous Freepers with medical backgrounds here. But, we seem to always be talking from a political stance only. Since Jim does not mind chat, I thought it would be interesting to share experiences.

I was watching that video of the 9/11 and when the President was told. It was I think they said 82 mins into the attact.
The look on the President face was sunken and one who seemed to was out of the *loop! (I think *deliberately)
What I mean I think some in those agency sandbage the President. I also want to say when Bush was imformed he did NOT skip a beat!
George W Bush is a true leader!
NOW the Son of the Devil Ben-Venista is out for Ashcroft!

Ashcroft ZAPS Gorelick Memo that prevented FBI and CIA from working together before 9/11 was just declassified by Ashcroft. It was written by Comissioner Gorelick.

I am still outraged at the way they treated Condi Rice!
Venista, Kerry, Rommer all need to apologized for the boorish way they approach her!
They are not worthy, they are bullies!

The problem becomes that for the huge mass of Americans that don't get news from Fox or the internet, they won't get the connection.
The mainstream news sources are still way too powerful and way too partisan to print the connection, let alone actually investigate it. They present the "commission" as non-partisans who have found that the Bush administration should have known, and are really incompetent compared to those hawkish liberals who keep us safe.
Regardless of how offensive and stupid that is, and how outrageously slanderous, that is the view of the NYT, the WaPO, ABC, CBS, etc. For liberals and the Democrat/media complex it is power uberall.
Like the old Chinese proverb says......we live in interesting times.

Just getting caught up....again! Your pearls are lovely, Val. When I was stationed in Okinawa I had a chance to get Mikimoto pearls but did I? I was only a LT and didn't make much money and the "pearls" my dad gave me on my 16th birthday I thought were real turned out not to be....:( But for a birthday my sweet hubby gave me a lovely pair of those Mikimoto pearl earrings...8mm too and like you I love them!

Hi, Westy,
Oh don't I know the benefit of getting a nice strand of pearls oversead..at least then. I don't know how it is now. I did come home with some nice rings, however. In uniform the only jewlery we could wear was a watch and a ring on each paw so I got several very nice ones...Manchu gems from Hong Kong were first rate when I was overseas.

I was there in the 70s and there were cars all over the place...and the thing that we required of them ( since most of us got used cars from other service personnel) was that it start up in the rain and make it up all the hills. Of course afer the island reverted to Japan, the requirements became much more strict and that was a good thing since so many were driving rust buckets. I had a 1968 Toyota Publica, a little 2 cylinder air cooled engine. It sounded like a giant lawn mower but it was one of the best ones on the island..and it was almost automatic transmission..no clutch but other than that you had to go though the gears. I loved my little car. I paid 400 bucks for it when I got it and sold it for 400 bucks nearly 2 years later....I got it reapainted and new retred tires and the American Express ins did not transfer with it but the Japanese Self Insurance ( which I had to stand in line to get for 2 days) did! Hence I made out!

I was there for the Korean thing....Didn't need or want a car....The few that were around were old prewar American sedans....For a Japanese to buy a bicyle was like us buying a car here in the States, a big purchaase....Trains ran all over the place, so no trouble getting around....

And in the process they are throwing OUR national security out the window
People are watching and they are seeing what is going on

That press conference last night was the most maudlin journalistic farce I have ever seen. I thought President Bush was not in his best form last night. But, how could he be, trying to answer those silly questions from reporters.
Lord love a duck, it used to be that reporters asked penetrating and insightful questions ie what, when, where. Now they just ask "how" as in "how do you FEEL".
And this apology business is driving me mad, I tell you. It is either an orchestrated effort to make President Bush admit guilt for 9/11 by apologizing. Or it is that they have become so saturated by emotionalism, they have lost all credibility of possessing any intelligence. I swear, Mo, I was expecting one of the reporters to ask "Mr President, if you were a tree, what kind would you be?" LOL

It so comforting watching Jamie Gorelick and Tenet cozy up to one another!
I sure hope GWB is assembling behind the scenes something like the M15!
