I just saw the new Quiznos subs commercials on the TV. What are those nuked rat looking thing things?! I've seen pics of them posted on FR before. Someone please explain to me what they are and why Quiznos is sporting them now. O_O;;;

I saw that last night as well. If anything the commercial makes me question their hygiene.

Aw come on... Even the National Review folks were hip to these guys... They are Joel Vietch's Flash Presentation creations. MOst of his creations can be seen at rathergood.com (Look under kittens on the left menu, even for those Quisnos creatures.)
Ever hear of The Viking Kittens, singing "The Immigrant Song" or "Gay Bar"? That's the guy
Here is the song that the Quiznos ad is a takeoff of:
http://www.rathergood.com/moon_song/ (Definitely the strangest of the songs.)
Immigrant Song is not on that site, and it is among the best. Here it is:

Ha! It's funny you should mention this. I saw one of their ads last night and just about gagged. Fuzzy ugly creatures don't go a long way to selling me to buy soup and a sandwich.

4my - it's a creation of the same "creative" person who invented the Viking Kitties.
Rathergood.com Considering he / she / it most likely didn't have legal use of Immigrant Song, the "Real VK Version" is no longer there.

And I liked Quizno's... I'd be curious to see what this line of advertising does for their sales.
I like those little chocloate Bundt cakes they sell.

Glad I used the search function because I was about to post a vanity about this. Nothing this weird should be loosed on mainstream culture. The pulsating eyes are bad enough but I have a sneaking suspicion that the bodies are dead mice. Top it off with vocals that sound like Emo Phillips (anyone remember him?) and there you have it: an entire generation of traumatized consumers who won't even approach a Subways unless they're near starvation. I'd hate to be the investor reading Quizno's next quarterly report. This will probably end up in advertising courses under "Horrible Blunders".

Like everyone else has said: It doesn't give you a craving for a Quiznos sub.
Why anyone would use those things as advertisement -- for FOOD, no less -- is a mystery to me.
