CBS left holding the bag

I didn't have my senses offended by watching the SuperBowl half time show on Sunday. I don't watch football period. However, I haven't been able to avoid hearing about the aftermath of it.

Judging from the reaction on all the talk shows on radio , from Art Bell to Rush, the NFL did not do itself any favors. The supurb game is not the talk around the water cooler. The talk is Janet Jackson's middle aged boob and the poor quality of both the half time show and the commercials.

Since the FCC , CBS and the NFL is going to be hearing about this big time, I would like to take the opportunity to help out my fellow Freepers financially.

Short sell the parent company of CBS today.

It is likely that after the FCC investigation that CBS will be fined. It is also likely that CBS will lose the contract for further broadcasting rights for future NFL games.

At the risk of taking this further into the gutter than it already is ... that's just weird. Could it be makeup? (On her face, that is.) Knowing the history of the Jackson family, could it be that she makes her face look "blacker" on purpose in order to avoid claims that she's "not really a sista'.

I do happen to be a white guy, a cracker even, if you will. But I have, er, well, 'had the occasion to be in the company of naked african American ladies before.'

Exactly. I suspect she's not as light-skinned (by whatever means) as Michael, though for a time she was walking a very similar path. At some point, she jumped off of her brother's runaway train of self-mutilation.

She may well be trying to darken her face to avoid the criticism that has been directed at Michael. IIRC, she did not look that dark in her early music videos, but it's been a *long* time since I saw any of those. Could be a bad photo, too - but I think not.

I DO find it amusing that no one is mentioning Janet's advanced age, compared with Justin. If it were an aging MALE singer and a young trendy girl singer, it would be dramatically different.

Normal modes about sexuality are getting stale. They have already brought in homosexuality in. The symbolism in last nights act was all about S & M. Once that is accepted MTV will get more artistic "freedom". I fear for the coming generation.
