I would have hated Girl Scouts. At that age I had nothing in common with other girls. I'd have rather joined the Boy Scouts, too... oh well. I did play softball until my inherent lack of talent forced me to stop.

Girl Scouts...there are good troops, but the one here was run by raging feminists who were eager to mold young girls in their own image. Ick.

I was pretty lonely a lot of the time when I was a young teenager...my brothers had scouts, but by that time most of the girls I knew got wayyyy into boys - and not as just people to hang out and play stuff with. And clothes and makeup and boy bands and...well, I just didn't have anything in common with 'em! I hung out with the boys when they let me, and I did have a few good friends that I saw once in awhile (one of them the girl who just got married...and is expecting a baby in May!), but I did a lot of wandering around in the woods alone, training my dog, and reading and writing. Wasn't so bad, I guess, now that I think back on it! But I did envy my brothers at times.
