Come spring, I believe there will be another rescue coming our way, unless one finds us first.

Well, that will be one lucky critter. Congrats on the first precious in our new home, and an honest one at that!

SQ; that brings a smile and a pleasant memory. When we brought Samantha home, our neighbor (of 23 years), looked at her and said "Dog, you just don't know how good you're going to have it now."
LSA replied, "well, no dog on the couch. period" That lasted a remarkedly short length of time. Less than six weeks later, LSA was out cutting the lawn and came in to find Sam on the couch, asleep, with her head on a pillow. She let her stay. :-)
