I did it. I can't believe I did it, but I did it. BOY was that last five minutes tough! But I slowed down a bit and just plodded through it.
Having something else to concentrate on helped, for sure. Finished the first chapter and a minute or two of the second. Looks like the chapters are twenty five to thirty minutes long, which is about right!
So far it kinda reminds me of Roald Dahl, only I can kinda tell it's a woman writing.

Good going on the workout! :) You two both did better than me on that today--I've been too sick to work out the past two days. I am getting some of Doomsday Book done, though.

Yes, the first Harry Potter book in particular has a Dahl-ish feeling. She settles into her stride more in the second book. Heh, I'm a fan and I still don't understand how she's made a billion dollars off Harry. Especially since the kid is, well, not the world's greatest hero... he's a little boring.
Heh, but I do love those books. Have been at midnight parties for the last two, in costume, and after Tolkien my best trivia area. (Want to know Harry's mother's maiden name? Explanations of the signifigance of various names [any strange name is signifigant.]? The rules of Quidditch or the colors of the houses? I'm the girl...)
