The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Well, I would kinda like a new chair for my den. But, first I gotta get this mess straightened up that I started when I got home from work today! LOL
I mean, it would have been smart to finish up the library before I started on something else. I *was* only down to one room that I had topsy turvy. But, no! That wasn't good for me! I turned the den upside down now! LOL
Oh well, when I get it all finished it's going to be more likeable for me around here. When we moved in I was so busy starting the new job and everything that I kinda just threw stuff in the right rooms where they would fit. I only ever finished the living room, kitchen and Grama's room. All the other rooms were okay - even okay enough for company - but they haven't been put right for me.

I'll post a picture of it directly...it's got clothes all over it right now.
I just want to get the clothes up before Steve gets home...I would hate to come home to a disorganized house after a long day of work and school if I were him. He's not me, though...probably doesn't bother him that much even! LOL

Nothing much happened, which is OK.Lots better than having your butt gnawed upon!!! Any day without that is a good alternative! :-)

I'm sure he likes coming home to a clean house!
I'm having decaf Lady Grey tea now. Good stuff.

I know how it will go though, don't you? Suddenly you'll put something away and turn around and it's like *click*...everything has snapped into place. It seems like it'll never happen. But then it does.

His name is Perk? That's interesting, though Lord, I hope his mother didn't name his brother Drip.ROFLMAO!!!
Can I pass that on to him? P-E-R-K are the first letters of his last name. He has a very normal first name. One of those gospels. :-)

Yah... but to go days without a phonecall from the boss... that makes me nervous too. :-)
To: Ramius
Maybe he's sick.
I haven't hardly seen my boss all week. Kinda miss him. *snif*
But I also hope he doesn't come back until he's good and well, 'cause I sure as heck don't wanna get sick!

I was always sendin' Gardhettos cause Tom really likes 'em. I told him they were coming and told him I hoped he liked them as much as Tom did. That was what prompted his comment about them!
It tickles me that he *does* actually respond about stuff like that! It's really nice to *know* what they like when I go to the store!

There was a saying, that "A bitchin' sailor is a happy sailor. It's when they go quiet that you gotta watch your back."
It's the same with the boss... as long as he's calling and bitchin' about something then I know I still have a job. It's when I don't hear from him that it makes me wonder.

Funny thing about having my room done. I haven't felt much like my own room in years. The old house had 2 large bedrooms and one small one. After Myranda's dad walked I fixed up a large bedroom for each girl. The little bedroom was really cool because it was in the back of the house and had more windows. Looked out over only scenery! Had a metal roof - lovely in the rain. That was *my* last room.
Jill ran away from home shortly before I married Dennis. We redid that room for our room. I was okay - but it wasn't me. After he left and died... I just left that room the same... and I didn't really want to change it cause I missed him so... so I just didn't do anything.
When I got here, my room was the least important thing to do anything with in my way of thinking... so I just threw the furniture in and left it that way. But, it wasn't very homey. So, now, it's nice to have my own stuff in my own room again. Feels good.

Catching up; Evening 2J: those are some great pictures of the blue and gold; Is the flipping the cub scout a local tradition? Although I was a cub scout (back in The First Age); I think I would have remembered that :-)
Everyone looks pleased as punch, that is a fine looking family.
Back then we wore our cub scout uniforms to class on Den Days, same with the brownies. A lot of us were in cub scouts in those days.

Evening g'nad; "Adventures with the Tractor" I think I see what is going on, you are actually restoring the tractor, one part at a time. Sounds like a heap of busy stuff for a fella that has 'retired'. Sounds a bit like a couple others I know. Best of luck on your ongoing project.:-)

Okay okay... put off the gnawing. We'll be here to listen when ya need to vent. And somebody around here will scratch your back to soothe your nerves. :-)

Subbing again, excellent. That would have been a good lecture to hear; can't say I know much about myself, beyond reading "Elena" a number of years ago, it was a good read, I think they made it into a movie.

It always tickles me to hear from any of the guys. Figure ya'll will like it too!
Perk has got to where he emails me pretty often but mostly we just talk. Usually he doesn't say anything to put on the thread. Just personal stuff.

Evening WN; that is a great letter from 'the new guy'. Hope all is well with the platoon. Thanks for posting it, and Garetto's bump. :-)
