Oh, Rosie... I'm sorry you're having a bad day. Wish I were there, or you were here. Wish there was something more I could say.
*Hugs*
I'm around for as long as you want to talk, tonight.

Sometimes I think little dogs are the worst. In this case, she got up on the kitchen table, ate a container of butter, chewed said container to bits, and pooped on the kitchen floor. Doesn't seem to have any ill effects, so I'm more worried about the butter.
And when I went to replace it at the grocery store, I got "insufficient funds", though there was plenty in there early. Went to the bank page to check, and there's a charge with no description for over the amount I had in the bank, and it's not an amount I recognize. Tomorrow I get paid, so hopefully it will just go through, but I'm fretting AND mortified.

Thanks, guys. I know there's not much you can do or say.
I just get almost angry sometimes...because Mom was taken away and I have no one new locally to talk to, no woman to look up to anymore. Yeah...there's Dad, and I'm closer to him than I've ever been before, but it's not the same at all.
I imagine you know what I mean, Hair. And I'm sure as happy as these last few months have been for you, there must still be moments when you miss her terribly and wish she could be there for all this.
To: RosieCotton
Well, I'm here. That's all I can do. I can't exactly relate, but I can sympathize - and I'm glad you can cry about it, because that's better than locking it up inside.

I too am close to my Dad, and I am happy about that, but there are things you want to pick up the phone and talk to mom about.
I wish ecurbh could have met her.
To: HairOfTheDog
There are still plenty of things I'd like advice on...or to discuss...or to tell her. I guess that'll always be.
I didn't mean to put a damper on the thread, though! Carry on...

ecurbh just agreed to play trombone with a brass ensemble at church this weekend... He was invited by a friend of his family who lives nearby. rehearsal tomorrow. He hasn't played in months, and I am looking forward to hearing him play.... even if it does mean there is a risk they will turn me into a Baptist!
To: RosieCotton
You need to get some sibs over and watch some anime. That might help.
Let's see. Cheerful topic... um... well, the week is half over. I'm not going to Detroit for another two+ weeks. And I actually exercised today. Guess that makes it a good day for me...

Hey, most Baptists are Good People. Just don't ask 'em to dance and don't offer 'em a beer.

Oh my IOTN, I know what you are going through, being in the midst of a "career change" myself.
Hang in there and I'm praying for you.

Hehehe.... it'll be grape juice, not wine, in the Communion, you can bet your horse.
Of course, *my* church also uses grape juice. And lembas-bread, but that's another story...

....even if it does mean there is a risk they will turn me into a Baptist!I hope you like potluck dinners and chicken. We Baptists love our potluck and chicken dinners. I've even heard that a Baptist missionary's stomach is often referred to as a chicken graveyard. ;^)

Umm, yesterday's job interview didn't pan out, but I got a call today from a CPA firm looking for an accountant. I have a job interview on Monday at 2:00pm.

Oh Lutherans putluck too.... though the choices are often Betty's Hot dish or Mabel's hot dish... and various colors of jello with things suspended in it.
To: JenB; HairOfTheDog
Just don't ask 'em to danceHeh. I grew up in a very conservative Baptist church. They were so against dancing that they had their own anti-prom (the same night as the high school's) so that they could make sure their young ones weren't dancing!
To: ksen
Good luck tomorrow, ksen!
To: ksen
Ooops, I mean Monday. ;~D
