Well, it might have been funny for someone to lose their bikini bottom to a snorkel at some other time, IF I hadn't been near drowing because of it.
*chuckle*
Of course, I suspect that rule 22a had something to do with the bellyflopper and the snorkel entanglement.

Back. Note to self: NEVER go to a grocery store at five on a Friday evening. NEVER.
Of course, I intended to just go to the feed store, but turns out they close at four thirty.
And my concert decision was made for me - it's sold out. They're having it in a pretty small place, so it sold out quicker than I expected. Ah well.

What was the concert?
Gonna go get supper myself here--back in a bit.

Group called "The Wood's Tea Company". They do a little bit of everything folk...some Celtic fiddle tunes, some sea shanties, some original material, and the other time I saw them they also did some stuff by people like Gordon Lightfoot. But I did just see them in January, so I'm OK with missing this one.

I had a little breakdown. Came home and the sibs had pepperoni pizza. Hot, fresh, and perfect Friday food...
I am going to run later, though. So it almost works out... oh well... so much for losing weight, eh?

Sounds like a fun band. So what are you going to do instead of the concert? BTW, is everyone off mooting today or something?
To: JenB
Murphy was an optimist...At least until he became Robocop :)

!!!
Well, yeah.
But I bet he was never the guy to get landed upon by women diving.

The trick is eating only a little. Besides, my genes predispose me to putting on weight. I inherit everything from my father except my metabolism, which is my mother's curse; you should see what she goes through to stay in shape.

The trick is eating only a little. That definitely helps. I find it a lot easier to manage my food without gaining weight if I make my meals smaller and snack more often to compensate.

It may be that you and your mother's genes are prone to do that if your diet isn't adjusted to your body type. What type of foods did your mother tend to serve when you were growing up?

Cheap ones. Pasta and potatoes and chicken. We've started eating better, a combination of the perpetual Atkins diet and the fact that, in the last ten years Dad's done rather well.
I know if I'm on Atkins, I lose weight. Though quite slowly. I can go off for a couple weeks and not gain, as long as I go back on pretty quickly. I just get so impatient...

Cheap ones. Pasta and potatoes and chicken.I gained the most weight when I was eating a lot of potatoes and pasta and rice (and by "a lot" I mean I'd mash six potatoes or eat a whole box of rice mix for supper) because that was the cheapest food I could think of; meanwhile I was eating vegetarian at that time and I was getting my protein mostly from yogurt/cheese products, so that my diet amounted to high carbs and high fat. As a result even though I worked out pretty strenuously twice or more a week at Kung Fu class I was still gaining weight. Switching my diet by reducing the potatoes/pasta/rice and cheeses and substituting other foods helped.
