The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Here's how to run your marriage, Miss Hair. Grab your affianced.
Not THAT way!!
Grab him in a fashion conducive to dragging him to the JP's office. Get it over quickly and painlessly and present your friends with a fait accompli. Thus saving everyone GOBS of money and preventing numerous pains in the derrières, last minute kerfuffels, and an embarrassment of embarrassments on the parts of your male friends (who shall remain nameless) over one or more bridesmaids, etc.
Also, it's very unlikely your wedding at the JP's will be busted up by Hell's Angels, whereas a prearranged shindig might be.
Plus no one will have to listen to "Feelings" or whatever the hell schlocky tripe is played at weddings these days (actually, I think weddings are effectively funerals, but that's just my romantic nature, just ask the Whyisa).
And there won't be all that crying and weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth and rending of garments and bitchy remarks wimmen seem to think they have to inflict on everyone else at these things.
You're welcome. If you want any more advice, don't come to me, I'm all adviced oot.

The hard part now will be convincing her that the hip will actually WORK as advertised! That ain't the half of it sister! We went around this backwards in that she saw the orthopedic surgeon and the pulmonary doctor before we found her a general practioner. But we went to someone they recommended.
Wife and her sister took Nana in. Doctor asked "So, how are you?"
Nana said, "fine."
Wife (being a good G.R.I.T.S) said "NO, YOU'RE NOT! This is what she tells me doctor..." and she proceeded to go down the list of everything Nana complains about.
Then the doctor started looking at the list of medicines Nana is taking.
"Why are you taking this?"
"Because I have _____."
"No, you don't"
"Why are you taking this?"
"Because I have _____."
"No, you don't"
He told her "We're gonna get you over this surgery and then go thru all the medicines you're taking. You probably don't need most of them."
THEN he said, "And we're gonna get rid of that cane. Why do you use it anyway?"
"I'm afraid of falling."
"But the more you're afraid of falling, the more likely you are to sit and not be active, then the more likely you're going to fall..."
We really, really, really like this doctor!

Heh...I told Hair to just worry about what her and ecurbh are wearing, what day they want it and what time it starts.
Other than that, let everyone else worry about food and the little stuff.

I'm encouraged, Miss Ruthien. Your remark indicates they intend to wear
something.

I'm not totally happy with Brad Pitt as Achilles. I've been thinking about this too. He has bulked up a bit. And I like Brad Pitt. But I would think the role needs a bigger guy. Taller. but I felt the same way about Viggo Mordorson at first too; that there was no way he'd fill the part. He sure did though. I guess sometimes stature is more than a physical trait in an acting part. We'll see.

I hear ya Argh. To take your advice would be wise, but we are going to do something between JP and nightmare! I know the traps of wedding plans, and I am determined to make this as easy to plan and attend as a picnic!
Pray for that.
Now - Can I still go grab my affienced?
To: HairOfTheDog; ecurbh
Grab away, Miss Hair! And my best wishes to you both!

I guess being hyphenated is out of the question on a conservative forum?

embarrassment of embarrassments on the parts of your male friends (who shall remain nameless) over one or more bridesmaids, etc.By the way..... I wouldn't miss that for the world...
I'd buy tickets.
To: Argh
