...poll assumes Bush made a mistake.....
I thought the exact same thing when I heard O'Reilly talk about the poll. And, I will email him about this.
How about David Kay saying they were working on ricin right up 'til the war began. RICIN ! Last I heard this could kill quite a few people. Sometimes O'Reilly bugs me. I like John Gibson and Neil Cavuto. They wear their patriotism on their sleeve and they're not ashamed to do so. They don't cave to try to be 'politically correct'.

When Cliff May mentioned Ricin tonight...O'Reilly acted like that wasn't any big deal.

O'Reilly said tonight that the fact that Saddam was dangerous is a "right wing talking point"Well, tonight I saw a portion of the David Kay interview with Tom Brokaw. MSNBC showed a bit of it earlier.
In it Kay repeats something I've been highlighting that he said in the NPR interview: That what they found in Baghdad indicates Iraq was MORE of a threat than we thought before the war. The point about WMDs is obfuscating this bombshell.
Tonight he elaborated that (as I surmised) the findings have to do with terrorist organizations. Also their missile program most definitely was buzzing right along, quite active.
**I am not participating in this poll as the question and results are misleading and I don't see the point.

I wish I had seen Cliff May...I don't watch O'Reilly anymore...haven't for months.

Just this past week some of hitler's chemical weapons were found by a fisherman who was burned with mustard gas when he opened the container.
Six months after we have captured Baghdad and already the whiners are throwing in the towel.

Remember our discussion this morning about that Kay comment about Iraq potentially being actually more of a threat than we thought before the war?
See my post #43 about Kay elaborating a bit more to Brokaw. I did not see the whole interview and hope there's a thread out there discussing, but seeing your name thought I'd give you a heads up.

They wear their patriotism on their sleeve and they're not ashamed to do so. They don't cave to try to be 'politically correct'. I think your right. All of Fox News has turned liberal these past two weeks. Nothing fair and balanced about THAT!

I thought it might be me, but I've felt that lately Fox is changing. They don't seem to be as committed to accuracy in their statements. Re WMD, Rick Fulbaum commented that Pres Bush said WMD threat was imminent.....I almost jumped through the television. Fox's own Brit Hume consistently reported that Pres Bush said 'we don't want to wait 'till the threat is imminent'. I hate that Chris Wallace took over for Tony Snow. I no longer watch the Fox News Sunday show.

I vote yes. We were wrong. Bush was the victim of lousy intelligence and the CIA needs a thorough cleansing and reorganization.

I saw that too---I used to be an O'Reilly fan but, IMHO, he has reacted to charges of conservatism by leftwingers by going overboard in attacking the president. While I agree that O' Reilly's a blowhard he's not been attacking the President on this. I heard his radio show for a bit today and he was quite satisfied with David Kay's assertion that President Bush got bad intelligence and made a good decision, based on bad info that turned out wrong. I think he's right on this and Bush ought to just come out and say that "it doesn't appear that Saddam had the kind of WMD program that the PM Tony Blair, President Clinton and I thought they had".
O'Reilly's got a good deal of his credibility on the line with this too. He's been for the war all along because of WMD and he's promised that he'd hold the administration accountable ( I know...he's such a fathead!) if WMD claims turned out to be untrue. But he spent an hour not only defending Bush...but he flat out said that anybody who calls Bush a liar about WMD's is himself a liar because Bush made a mistake he did NOT deliberately mislead the American people.

Kay himself said today that Saddam was more dangerous just before the war than we even thought.
There is much more to what Kay said than the media is presenting.
He said it on Brit Hume's show, which is about to air again in less than an hour.

His administration didn't make the mistake. The CIA made the mistake. IF there was one. He's the President and it's his CIA...lock stock and barrel. The CIA is part of his administration and George Tenent is the President's problem.
George W. Bush is a big boy and doesn't need us to make excuses for him. He needs to lay it all on the table and the American people will be with him on this...he'll steal the 'Rats thunder and grow in the people's estimation.

I thought I was the only one to catch this and I've been posting it all over (you may have seen one of my replies earlier on this very thread).
I saw his quote in the article about the NPR radio interview, then heard some of the Brokaw/Kay interview tonight on MSNBC and he plainly says that what they found showed Iraq was more of a threat than even we knew beforehand.

I heard that too. Kay was alluding to terrorist involvement and Saddam's basic instability. I'd sure like to see someone flesh this line out some more. I think Kay's got something here and he's just waiting for someone to ask the right questions.

The mistake the administration made was allowing the democrats and the media to make it all about large stockpiles of WMD.
Kay said that as it turns out, Iraq was more of a threat to us than we believed right before we went in.
They were working on making ricin right to the end.
SH had nuclear ambitions -- and the means to realize those ambitions.
The mistake was a political one. Going into Iraq was the right thing to do.
