The Democrat nominee wins election to the Presidency by a land slide. Pundits and "experts" in shock.

Blind faith will only take you so far. I would support Bush on this one if he will just tell us how he will close the doors on the border and regulate who comes to our home in the future.

A hard working American is at a disadvantage over a hard working illegal alien who wants to work for a lot less. Once again Supply and Demand, economics 101.

This will be the headline the day after the November elections if the Democrat nominee is astute enough to use one single viseral issue to hammer George Bush. Illegal immigration. If the Democrat opponent promises to make the U.S. borders secure and stop the flow of illegals he will be able to steal all the votes he needs from the Republicans to propel himself into the White House. Bush has struck a nerve with the vast majority of Americans on the issue of illegal immigration and it is ready to explode in his face if his Democrat opponet is smart enough to capitalize on it.
Any chance your theory had falls on the last condition: The Democrats aren't smart enough. In fact, they all want Amnesties that are worse than the "not an Amnesty" Amnesty that President Bush has proposed. The likely effect of the Bush Amnesty is that it will depress his totals somewhat, though not enough to affect his reelection. The cost to the GOP will be in seats downticket.

Perhaps so. Then you should support the President's initiative to see that a guest worker program is instituted to match willing workers with willing employers where no native worker can be found.

There are things about Bush that I like very much, and things about Bush that I don't like. On the whole, I continue to support him and will vote for him in 2004. But I agree that this was a politically stupid move. Even if no Democrat raises the issue, plenty of conservatives already have. And the result will be that a lot of Bush's base may stay home. Even though he wins, it will cost him the opportunity to end the Senate filibusters and finally appoint some good judges. That's why it's important not only that Bush should win, but that he whould win by a lot--because otherwise we'll be stuck with judicial tyranny for another four years.
Exactly right. Bush will probably win, but his Illegal Alien blunder will not only fail (thankfully), it will be a net detriment to every other aspect of the Republican agenda.

Dem wins by a landslide... Only thru artful counting of the votes.

I will proudly cast my first presidential vote for George W. Bush, and hope that single- issue people don't end up putting a kill-em-till-they-leave-the-womb-and-in-some-cases-even-after, tax-and-spend, womb-to-tomb-entitlments liberal in the White House.
Dare to be unintentionally ironic.

I'd vote for Satan (almost) if he'd give me a tax cut. The spending & rewarding illegal (alien) behavior really bothers me...
There's a bumper sticker.

I guess you're right, but the fact remains that every thing you hate about George W. Bush will be multiplied under the alternative.l

You are welcome to take it up with the "single-issue voter" who happens to own the server you are squatting on. While there are "broken glass Republicans" maybe there needs to be a new label for those who would vote for the devil himself if he pushed one of the fringer's all-important issues: "molten-glass Brigadiers."
To: Centennial
Yeah, the Democrats are going to come out against illegal immigration. I think that will happen as soon as they come up with their plan to ban abortions.
To: Sabertooth
Some of those ideas, or perhaps even all of those ideas would sound a lot better to me if we were talking 50 -100 K illegals. Unfortunately, it's more like 10 -12 million. I don't think so. But, you know what? What do I know anyhow?

I understand why you posted it but the knuckleheads in government are on a different agenda than the American people we want to live and be free and see others do the same they want power period and they don't care how many of us they have to step on to get it!
Pleading with power hungry legislators and scared lobbyists only brings us to their level of corruption.
Have you ever heard of a Redress of Grievance being heard by congress
How many petitions have you and i and countless others signed and scripted never to be seen or acknowledged by these ELECTED REPRESENTITIVES ?
Theres a fine phrase Representative where is our representation this is supposed to be a conservative President and a republican form of Government its being turned into a socialist/communist nation with every passing day and moreover every passing bill
We can see it We can respond to it but with no response back were stagnant!
And thats just the Republican/Conservative side of things i don't even want to get started on the democratic side of the coin! thats just totally communist.

Only one reason to vote for Bush. Don't vote for him to stop Illegal Immigration, he is all for it. Don't vote for him to stop abortion, took him 4 years to lead the congress to sending him the PARTIAL birth abortion ban. Don't vote for him to win the war on terror, its been 3 years and still we are pussy footing around with this scum. Don't vote for him to save jobs, he supports the H1B visas and L1 visas that send ( when you include the fine print exceptions) unlimited hi tech jobs going to non-americans brought here, and outsourcing jobs to other countries.
Don't vote for him to cut spending, he's increasing spending while cutting taxes during war time.
Vote for President Bush so that you can piss off Micheal Moore, Al Franken and the rest of the War protesting, tofu eating, tree hugging, pencilnecked, vegetarian, terrorist loving, Jew hating, Hollywood loving, scum. Just think of the grinding of teeth, the pulling of hair, the shrieks of agony of the Striesands, the Baldwins, the internet donor to Dean. Think of their suffering, their inner hell, their damaged ki, their lowered self esteem, their ruptured Karma, their chakras, ohh oh their poor dis/mis/un aligned chakras, oh yes. That is why I will vote for Bush.
It won't make me feel good, it won't be good for the country but at least, at least, it will hurt the enemy.
This is the only way we can mobilize motivate and win.
