The love the irony! Mostly anti-Papist Evangelicals cheering a movie by an uber Catholic based in part on the ecstatic mystic revelations of a 19th century nun.

I will be seeing this movie, along with many, many others, in part to defy the hysterical fear-mongering and slander of the lunatic left as well as the "christian" frauds and pretenders who associate with them.

Because of the criticism, all major Hollywood studios decided to pass on "The Passion." The film was without a distributor for months until Newmarket Films agreed to distribute it for Mr. Gibson's company, Icon Productions.

None of the major studios wanted to distribute "The Passion"? I wonder what they're afraid of. That it's too true to the Gospels?

It's a blessing to see Mel Gibson so kindly welcoming many evangelicals to view his film.

I think Christians of all "flavors" will flock to this film, not to mention seekers who want to learn "what this Jesus guy is all about". :-)

Speaking for about 15 minutes, he asked the assembly to pray and promised that the film "will change your heart." Mr. Gibson said he showed it to one agnostic friend, "and the next day, he read all four of the Gospels."

Good, hopefully this will cut into interest in the Quran, sales of which have exploded since 9/11.

I cannot wait. Usually I try to see the matinee - but this time I may pay the whole price.
