My favorite Packers play is when I get to see Favre block on a reverse or get to hit someone. I liken his grit to Phil Simms.

This year's talent on the Packers team was wasted. Poor coaching all season.

The Packer fan though is different from anything else I've ever experienced in an NFL hometown fan. The team, the coaches, the facility, and the fans are foulable in the way they see THEIR TEAM. Even a poorly played, coached, or poorly executed fan participation is excused with a "We'll do better next time".

No Richie Kotite lynching mobs or Marion Campbell witch hunts. A Green Bay loss is a reminder that just having such a great team in such a tiny town is a real honor to a Packers Fan. They are never ashamed.

Green Bay is pretty much the last refuge of pure sport fandom on the professional level, usually you only see that kind of craziness in high school sports. Which is one of the reasons Favre has done so well there and I honestly don't think he'd have had nearly as good a career elsewhere, he plays football the way Green Bay watches football: all out and crazy with a very short memory for bad things and an incredibly long memory for good stuff.
