That 4th and 1 at the end of the half has been widely blamed on Wahle not getting his push. But, it was Mark Tauscher who missed the play - it was designed for Tauscher to get a kick-out block on Simon - and he fired off the line late. Wahle tried reacting but had no power to push Simon back. Wahle was supposed to take on any linebacker or safety hitting the gap. That blown play was significant in Sherman deciding to punt late in the game - 4th and 1 at the 40.

speaking of linebackers hitting the gap, simoneau had a TERRIBLE game. I've been thinking about that last 4th-down call a lot, and how much the failure on the first 4th-and-1 had to do with the call. I think the choice to punt IS defensible, considering the eagles' offense had done very little in the last 25+ minutes of game time. and, while the "in the grasp" call was nonsense, the packers DID force 4th-and-26.

I don't think Sherman's call was any more questionable than, say, Reid's slot screen on 2nd-and-1, which set off a terrible chain of events.

good to see a packer fan who actually watched the game!

I think it screwed them up for the rest of the game. Sherman seemed to lose all confidence in the running game at key times. 3rd and 3 is a running down, especially when your start back is averaging 6.4 yards a game, and yet they passed on that twice without having Green even on the field. Makes no sense, unless that 4th and goal just shook them up.
