Not that either. Shs is manic depressive, she was off her meds, and cycling through a manic phase. Mania is very often associated with implusive (though completely 100% voluntary) sexual conduct. Manics tend to fixate on something they want and then go get it.

IF this is all true, Bryant has a good point and a good defense. If you were familiar with manic-depressives, you'd understand why.

Apparently she is being treated for schizophrenia, at least that's what Seroquel is for the treatment of. If she was bi-polar I assume she would be on Lithium. Since symptoms of schizophrenia include hallucinations, delusions, and paranoia, this is quite a revelation, and I must say unexpected. Hell! I thought the initial report was that she tried to overdoes on over the counter cold medicene. At least that's what we were all led to believe.

If Kobe could diagnose her as having a personality disorder within an hour of meeting her he should take up practicing medicene on the side.

I see, and if she is so manic, she then jumps through all the hoops of supposedly getting him a hotel room isolated from all the others and creeping up back hallways because she knows that she can entice him into a sexual situation where she can cry rape?

I see inconsistencies in all this, the supposed irrationality versus the supposed planning to set up the situation in the first place. You may not. I see it almost as arguing in the alternative, the stories just don't jibe. Obviously, the defense is going to make arguments that, if completely as stated, would make it all sound perfectly innocent. How believable and supportable that is, well, that's always the big question, that's why we have trials and don't try things in the press, as the defense would like. The prosecution will do its talking in court.

Just because many conservatives believed that BC had a pattern of behavior that precluded being fit for office (including possible rape), doesn't mean that conservatives also believe that every jerk deserves to go to jail on flimsy evidence.

He has a right to a fair trial, and a fast hanging if convicted. No one should take that from him or any other defendant. Unfortunately he has alot of money and fans who want to buy an outcome. None of them are interested in the truth, not a single one. He could have ended this the first week with the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

I wonder whatever happened to the idea of equality --- one isn't seen as guilty right off the bat because of gender. In a case like that --- if the woman would threaten to claim abuse to prevent the man from leaving, they should get the divorce and he be ordered to stay away from her. If a woman is really being beaten a divorce should be what she is seeking. I hope your friend doesn't allow this kind of intimidation to go on. It would seem a good lawyer or judge could determine that if she's making a claim like that, she should be glad for a divorce.

Being manic does not make one incapable of saying no, so even if she was manic at the time of the incident she could still have said no, and that would be rape. My point was that a manic person is so much more likely to have YES to sex, then after coming down from the mania in dpression felt so bad about it that they said it was rape. this explanation is most consistant with people with bi-polar, but that doesn't mean it wasn't rape.

There are a number of reasons why I tend to believe Kobe is guilty. Among them, his lawyer Mackey's acts such as the way she insisted on bringing up the victim's name. Mackey has no credibility and his hurting Kobe's case.

In that press conference not once did his wife say, "He's innocent." Instead, she did not say a single word, glared at him. Obviously she did not think he was innocent. Then there was the ring -- a very stupid PR move.

This seems to be a rerun of the Willie Kennedy Smith case.

I really don't get the argument. Whether she was a slut that had sex with 50 people, 3 hours prior is irrelevant. The question is "was the sex consensual?" If not he raped her. The issue of her being crazy is smoke and mirrors. It may help get Kobe off the hook, but it does not mean he is or is not a rapist. What do the facts say? The only fact I heard was she had signs of forced sex which the defense says is because the had rough sex. Let the jury decide and rest assured that when they find him innocent he will still have to answer for his deeds at a later date, as will we all.

Mackey has a lot of credibility. That seems to bother all of those who want Kobe sent to the gallows.

He's entitled to a defense, whether you think so or not; he may have gotten himself into this situation, but so did the girl and they have every right to question her motives.

And to compare this to William Kennedy Smith is ridiculous; if that were true, there would be four women lined up to testify that he did the same thing to him. And there aren't.
