Rush says W's Legalize the Illegals is "Leadership" (85%vanity)

Posted on 01/08/2004 10:00:48 AM PST by Cubs Fan

I don't normally do vanities, but I'm listening to Rush right now. And if i hear him say again that legalizing the illegals is "leadership" on Bush's part again I think I may vomit.

Let's face it either Bush is a conservative who is so hopelessly insecure about the sellability of his beliefs and keeping his job that he casts aside his principles whenever he thinks its expedient (and that's quite often these days).

Or he never was a conservative to begin with.

There are now only two choices in our government: liberalism or liberlism lite.

I agree with you. And I think Bush IS showing leadership.

This is a very difficult situation, and the only thing that is really clear is that our current immigration law is not working. At least Bush is trying to come up with a new approach.

As born American citizens, we can get all righteous and claim that we would never break the law to immigrate.

I am always in awe of the fact that people die trying to come here to America. Americans who were born here should thank God that they were so fortunate.

My personal opinion is that real leadership would be taking this situation head on.

Not only is it the right thing to do (getting RID of and stopping future illegal immigrants) but its what America wants at this time.

Make life difficult for illegal immigrants and they will leave.

I agree. You've got to have the courage to take of difficult issues in order to lead properly.

The silly thing is that President Bush is going agaist the grain of the American public.

I will vote for him anyways because I'd much rather have him in office. But I may reconsider my future campaign contributions.

I figure someone reminded Rush of who nailed him that fat contract.

The Democrats have the blacks; the Republicans have "the alternative is worse" conservatives. Neither is leaving their respective plantations.

I'll probably hold my nose and vote for him too, only because the alternative is so awful. But I must say if it weren't for the war on terror there's no way I'd support him. I won't be sending any checks and I won't be putting up yard signs and working the phones like I did last time.

--My personal opinion is that real leadership would be taking this situation head on. Not only is it the right thing to do (getting RID of and stopping future illegal immigrants)--

I agree completely, deport should be the only policy regarding illegals.

They are a burden to tax payers through government assistance. they are unscreened, often criminals. And if they are taking jobs nobody wants, cut the welfare rolls.

If that makes a head of lettuce go up 3 cents I think we can all deal with it.

--its what America wants at this time.--

Good point--its about time representative democracy stopped being held up to pander to ethnic groups special interests.

BTW I think Rush is one of the greatest things to ever happen to conservatism but today was definitely not one of his best days.

Tom, you're still here whining about my thread? Whats the matter, can't find that little button on your mouse that can turn this thread "On" or "Off" yet?

STILL whining?

(hint: I only come back to this thread when you ping me, I don't think Rush has that power on the radio.)

I agree. I had to turn him off.

I felt like he spent all night trying to come up with some way to put a positive spin on this debacle.

Tommy

You called?

(Daschle perhaps?),

Ouch. Now that really hurts.

after all this time you're still coming here to whine about my thread?

As long as you keep calling me back, yep.

Whats the matter, you still can't find that little button on your mouse that can turn this thread "On" or "Off" yet?

And actually no, I haven't found the "off" button that turns this thread off. Everytime you ping me, I will see it as long as I'm logged in. Perhaps you can tell me where it is?

You say I should ignore (turn off) the radio if I don't like it. Well, if you don't like this thread why don't you practice what you preach and ignore it?

Hypocrite.
