No detail was too small or too time-consuming. The toilet paper was unrolled, wrapped in foil, then rolled back up again. The friends covered Kirk's book and compact disc collections but made sure each CD case could open and shut normally. They even used foil on each coin in Kirk's spare change.

Sounds to me like someone has too much free time on his hands.

A practical joker deserves applause for his wit according to its quality. Bastinado is about right. For exceptional wit one might grant keelhauling. But staking out on an anthill should be reserved for the very wittiest.

Friends foil Olympia man's home
Downtown resident returns from trip to find belongings silver-coated

Chris Kirk laughs while walking through the front room of his apartment, which his friend, Luke Trerice, decked in aluminum foil. Kirk had gone out of town and let Trerice use the apartment, giving Trerice the opportunity for the practical joke.

A lone unfoiled book with a pointed message sits in Chris Kirk's bookcase. The title of the book is "Penn & Teller's Cruel Tricks for Dear Friends."

With every appliance still useable, the kitchen in Chris Kirk's apartment is enveloped in aluminum foil.
