I can actually recite some Olde English. It sounds really good. Maybe someday there will be a movie where the characters speak in Olde English with modern English subtitles.

For instance, Jackson wanted Salo to write Dwarfish words for a men's chorus to sing when Frodo and his friends were traveling through the Mines of Moria in "The Fellowship of the Ring." And we felt justified leaving this out because....?

It isn't left out.... it is in the men's chorus background in the soundtrack!

Indeed.... of course, even when one is paying attention, it mostly sounds like dwarvish grunting!

That's the Maori men's choir singing in Dwarvish in the background when the Fellowship is going down the stairs (and jumping the gaps) trying to reach the bridge.

If you have the soundtrack, it is at about the 3:00 minute point in track 13, "The Bridge of Khazad-dum". Here is what they are singing:
Urus ni buzra!
Arrâs talbabi fillumâ!
Ugrûd tashniki kurdumâ!
Lu! Lu! Lu!
Urkhas tanakhi!
'Fire in the deep!
Flames lick our skin!
Fear rips our heart!
No! No! No!
The demon comes!'

We could use a good collection of Elvish language links in one spot. I'll get to work on that and post it later. I have a font on my Mac-Pagemaker for Tengwar that corresponds pretty well with English phonetics (that is, you can type in English and have a reasonable Elvish calligraphy on your screen)...

Oh my lord. I like Leonard Nimoy. I like Spock. I like Bilbo. But together, oh my...what was he thinking? Even as a doped out hippie I wouldn't have found this entertaining - and this from someone who had Nimoy's album back in the 70s.
I'm not being snarky. I can admire the clip for its historical value...I think (I'm trying here, I'm really trying...)
