I left my former boss a note on the board tonight: "So long, and thanks for all the fish."
Upon reflection, I hope that he recognizes the quote and doesn't panic and check the walk-in refrigerator for missing fish. ;>)

X-42 and Hillary don't merit roses. They deserve the plant from "The Little Shop of Horrors."

Nine Install Disks? Wowza. That's some mouse.
Sprechen der mice, one of the cart girls found a squirrel munching on a dead mouse in one of the barns today. I'm thinking the golf course needs to hire an exterminator. And if the squirrels have gone carnivorous, I think I picked the right time to leave.

Exactly 42.
The former boss is pretty clueful, in spite of being a lawyer before he became a chef, so I'm hoping he'll recognise the reference.

What gets me is they always come to me with these interesting bits of trivia.... "There are dogs engaged in reproductive activities outside the gate"... "I saw a rat pole vaulting into the dumpster"... "There's a squirrel eating a mouse"...
Why did they always bring these tidbits of info to me? Do I have a sign that says I can handle bizarre wildlife situations? I'm just a freaking cook!!!!! 8>)

I think it's a function of people regularly seeing decisive action from the competent folk, and expecting that it extends to all areas.
I may not always be right, but I generally have an answer. ;>)

Sure it is..I get all the silly questions like that at work too.
Simple things like clearing a paper jam...those guys there act like I have completed a MIRACLE after clearing one of those.

Hi...
Feeling a tad under the weather. Not sure if it's the crud coming on or what, but I'm fighting it...Hubby doesn't feel well either.

They bring those wildlife problems to you because you are older and seem to know what to do. It is a weird compliment.
The restaurant needs an exterminator, for sure.
To: lysie
Prayers lifted for a quick and complete recovery for you and your hubby. This stuff has been nasty this year.
