[Vanity] Prayer Request
Posted on 12/26/2003 7:38:07 PM PST by Starter
My apologies for this thread, folks. But at this point, I'm willing to take a longshot.
Last Thursday evening, my mother was struck by a car while taking an after-dinner walk. She had been making slow improvement over the past week, but in the past 48 hours, she's nearly stopped responding to outside stimuli. There's one more test that she needs to go through before she is declared to be braindead, and I'm hoping for a miracle. If you'd like to say a quick prayer for her, I'd appreciate it. Her name is Cheryl. Thanks.
BTW, I think this is the third Freeper parent to pass away over the holidays. Unfortunately, it hasn't been a very happy holidays.

Heavenly Father, please watch over Cheryl and Starter, keep them safe in Your loving arms. Give them the strength to endure any trial, heal Cheryl if that be Your will, to the Glory of You and Your Son Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray, Amen.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks for our FReeper family, united in prayer for Starter's beloved mother. Thank You that his sorrow is before the Throne of Grace ... we join him in praying that Your divine touch will awaken Cheryl to the love that surrounds her, and that You will lead her through this deep valley. Give wisdom to those caring for her ... let nothing go undone that could be done ... You are the Great Physician and we commit her to Your care. Thank You that though our love is great, Yours is greater still. May the comfort of Your presence be with each one, in the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...

Don't give up hope. A neighbor's father was in a coma for over a week. Her mother came home from a trip to find him on the floor in coma. They finally pieced together enough info to discover that it had happened about a day before she came home.
They measured the depth of the coma on an APGAR score (same method for rating a newborn) of 1-10. 10 being very good to 1 being as close to death as possible without being dead. He was rated a 1.
About a week later he started coming out of the coma to return to a normal life for almost two years before he died of a heart attack.
