I can't even repeat the name of the song from TMoL that has become a cult classic on this thread. ;^)

Yep, my Grandmother, a hard-core Yellowdog RAT, usually starts these kinds of things during family get togethers. She didn't say a word yesterday. Ha!

Yes, she likes to drop these little gems -- many times I'm sure to see how I will react. She's close to 90, I'm 65 and I find the older I get, the less I care what people think of what I say!! For many years I wouldn't reply and heaven knows would never disagree -- but since GW came into office and during the Clintoon years -- I've figured "what the H*LL" - she says what she wants then so can I!! I feel a lot better!!

I am Spending Christmas week with my eldest daughter and family.
The other kids and their families are coming up tomorrow and we plan to have a fun family week end.
Last night we were talking politics( a tator family passion) and I referred to an event in the Jefferson administration. My seven year old grand daughter politely corrected me on the date.... I was off a year.
I was greatly surprised until my daughter told me grand daughter had read all the elementary level US history books in the Canton library. The granddaugher's interest in US history is inspired by the "American Girl" doll collection.
I think what we have is a chip off of Grandpa's block.
My 5 year old grand daughter can read. She handed out the presents on Christmas morning. She only made one mistake she gave a present from her Mom to "DAD" to her Dad, because she didn't think a present for Dad would go to someone named Grandpa. But she had no trouble reading any of the names.
If you think I am proud of them ... you are right.
A post dated Merry Chistmas to you and everyone. Have a very happy new year.

This "American Girl" doll thing is really something. Our little Sarah, age 6, wanted the Ballerina Rabbit,, name escapes me,,, and had a long list of books from that series.
I got her the rabbit and the list of requested books. Plus a couple of changes of clothes for the rabbit. She's outgrown Barbie in front of my eyes. Books were her top of the list request.
I still have the complete set of Bobbsie Twins books at Mother's. I'm going to call Mom right now and ask her to dig them out and bring them along on Sunday.

Oh, thank you! I was frantically trying to figure out what you were talking about! Baghdad Shopping Explosion? Bogus Syrian Election? LOL!
You are quite right...they were hysterical about it.

I read your responses on the BSE threads. Good, Thoughtful responses. Thanks for trying to help set the record straight. My neighbors, out here in the Cornfields, are sure to appreciate your help.
I haven't been out to the office to check the screen yet this morning. Do you have information on what the market is doing this morning?
We're having a difficult time trying to figure out why the grains were impacted on Wednesday, since there were the same number of livestock on feed on Wed. as there had been on Tues. I don't know anybody who's planning on shooting their livestock and digging a hole to bury them. I guess the traders don't quite understand the feeding side of this issue.

Bert and Nan, Freddy and Flossie! And Dinah (who has no doubt been removed in the newer editions).
I still have a copy of The Bobbsie Twins at the Seashore.
Now, did you ever read a series called Honey Bunch?

Good Morning All. Happy Birthday Mr. M.
Hello prairiebreeze, nice meeting you.
Yesterday was beautiful in central Texas and foggy today. I know what you mean about going back to low-carb IG. We had a great day, our little family and friends gathered in the living room, kitchen and dining room. We had a ham dinner, nothing fancy. The fellowship and fun we had were wonderful. Roomy gave me a digital camera, now I need to learn how to use it. The boys showed me how to aim and shoot the picture, now I have to read the directions and find out more. I've been needing a new golf bag, my old one looks like it went through the Korean war with me, and my boys presented a nice new one to me. Wasn't that sweet?
I know everyone one here was thankful for being able to celebrate Christ's birthday, we are so blessed to have Him in our lives.

Ahhhh, it is over, Christmas day, a great success in my household. Spent some time at the cemetery yesterday, and it put me down for a while but, came home and watched Gd, God takes away, God gives.
I take offence with Dean going to play the religious thing when he comes south, what is the matter, God ain't up north?
He sure does not use it there. He is plaiting a very dangerous game in inserting God as a tool to get ahead.
Thinking about going to the farm today and pick me a mess of greens, had turkey and the trimmings, now time for the greens, cornbread and black-eyed peas. I could eat greens for breakfast I like them so much.
New Years day is coming just real soon. Don't forget to get that cabbage and black-eyed peas for good luck, it is a must.
If you are not a expert bean cooker and eater, get a can of black-eyed peas at the store, unamerican if you ask me but, at least you will have that good luck. I sure would not go Jan 1st without those peas. You shouldn't either and I pass this information on to ya'll simply because I love you.
The stores that sell trees start getting theirs in in a couple of weeks and I can't wait. Pears, plum, fig (the one I had got killed when the fishhook ran over it), pecan, citrus, blackberry bushes for the 'something t'eats, dogwoods, elm, sycamores, weeping willows, you can see I am going to have my work cut out for me. Then it will be time to build my chicken coop and run yard.
May I say to each and every one of you that you have no idea what you mean in my life. It is awfully hard to wake up to just the four walls looking at you and only to fuss at the TV for those early morning and late night talks. I just scoot over to my computer, punch a few keys and am able to talk to some of the finest folks I have ever known. I laugh, I frown, I cry, I fuss reading your posts. I have pictured each one of you how you look, how tall you are, er, er, how big or small you are, gray. blond, black headed or, fellas, If you have any hair at all. This one wears glasses, this one doesn't, if you are old, real old, young or real young but in the end, I could care less because you look as you type, a heart knows nothing but love which means I see just a lot of big ole hearts. Thank you my friends, that you, thank you, thank you for helping me keep a positive outlook on life. All this from just ole Toby.
Have a good day, a kind of day you deserve.
