LOL!

"All my ex's live in Texas . . .
That's why I hang my hat in Tennessee!"

It's one of George Strait's hokey songs, but he's got a great voice. LOL.

When I was a kid, the last day of school before Christmas vacation was always a great day. I also looked forward every year to the day they decorated the lampposts on the main street in my town right after Thanksgiving.

Of course, the Bing Crosby Christmas carols on the radio were always something to look forward to, as well.

Now, it seems like I savor the little things more than I did since I was young -- especially the things I do every year out of habit more than anything else. This may sound bizarre, but it seems like there's something special about the haircut I always get on the last Saturday before Christmas.

Sweet Victoria, hehe.

You won't get an argument from me on that one. ;-)

Gotta run -- it's getting late, and I have some last-minute things to get done tomorrow at work before our Christmas party.

O Holy Night

That song and a viewing of "Its a Wonderful life"

Those two things are the frosting on the cake for me at Christmas.

Here is my newest favorite Christmas Carol. It is evokes both Christmas and Easter.
A Christmas Hymn
by Richard Wilbur

A stable lamp is lighted
Whose glow shall wake the sky;
The stars shall bend their voices,
And every stone shall cry.
And every stone shall cry,
And straw like gold shall shine;
A barn shall harbour heaven,
A stall become a shrine.

This child through David's city
Shall ride in triumph by;
The palm shall strew its branches,
And every stone shall cry,
Though heavy, dull and dumb,
And lie within the roadway
To pave his kingdom come.

Yet he shall be forsaken,
And yielded up to die;
The sky shall groan and darken,
And every stone shall cry.
And every stone shall cry
For stony hearts of men:
God's blood upon the spearhead,
God's love refused again.

But now, as at the ending,
The low is lifted high
The stars shall bend their voices,
And every stone shall cry.
And every stone shall cry
In praises of the child
By whose descent among us
The worlds are reconciled.

Have a Blessed Christmas!
