Amen to that Amy. I feel real bad for their families. If you go the airport right now in Jacksonville, you'll see them kissing their wives and newborn babies good bye. It really upsets me for them, but I am always grateful.

Hey my book loving friend!!! Do you know what we pull out every Christmas? We have a 1904 copy of Christmas Stories by Charles Dickens (a collection of his Christmas short stories). He had quite a dry sense of humor. I enjoy snuggling with the kids with this musty old book, reading his Christmas stories. I guess next year, the book will legally be an "antique". 100 years old. Wow!

Lovely song, Spooky.
I have one, especially for you.

Giiiiiiirrrrrrrlllllll........you're not gonna believe this but that's one of my all time favorite songs of my whole life. This was played on our piano continuously growing up. That's Nat singing it too, isn't it? You made my night. LOL Thank you so much.
How did you know I liked that song? Did I ever tell you?
To: SpookBrat
Nope, you never told me. I just read your mind. :-)
Let me try another one more

You can never go wrong with Nat King Cole. One of the most beautiful voices ever.

Before I go to bed, I wanted to thank you for the silkworm post. I ran across something like that a few months ago, then forgot about it. You have renewed my excitement. I think I will look into it.
To: GailA
Oh Gail THANK YOU!!!!
I can shrink that and make it a border for my mailing labels!

It is different. But it is exciting waiting for them to come out of the cocoons. And watching the spinning was exciting!

Santa Claus
He comes in the night! He comes in the night!
He softly, silently comes;
While the little brown heads on the pillows so white
Are dreaming of bugles and drums.
He cuts through the snow like a ship through the foam,
While the white flakes around him whirl;
Who tells him I know not, but he findeth the home
Of each good little boy and girl.
His sleigh it is long, and deep, and wide;
It will carry a host of things,
While dozens of drums hang over the side,
With the sticks sticking under the strings.
And yet not the sound of a drum is heard,
Not a bugle blast is blown,
As he mounts to the chimney-top like a bird,
And drops to the hearth like a stone.
The little red stockings he silently fills,
Till the stockings will hold no more;
The bright little sleds for the great snow hills
Are quickly set down on the floor.
Then Santa Claus mont to the roof like a bird,
And glides to his seat in the sleigh;
Not a sound of a bugle or drum is heard
As he noiselessly gallops away.
He rides to the East, and he rides to the West,
Of his goodies he touches not one;
He eateth the crumbs of the Christmas feast
When the dear little folks are done.
Old Santa Claus doeth all tht he can;
This beautiful mission is his;
Then, children be good to the little old man,
When you find who the little man is.

Oh Little Bank Americard
(sing to the tune "Oh Little Town Of Bethlehem")
Oh, little Bank Americard
You bring me Christmas Cheer
Without your clout, I have no doubt
No gifts I'd give this year.
Your credit line allows me to run up bills quite large
And when I'm through exhausting you, I'll use my Master Charge.
(Same tune, sung in late February)
Oh, little Bank Americard, you bring me discontent
I calculate your interest rate is over twelve percent.
Each month, your cry for payments, my letter-box bombards;
I'm one more sap, caught in your trap. Next year I'll just send cards.

Mistletoe
Walter de la Mare
Sitting under the mistletoe
(Pale-green, fairy mistletoe),
One last candle burning low,
All the sleepy dancers gone,
Just one candle burning on,
Shadows lurking everywhere:
Some one came, and kissed me there.
Tired I was; my head would go
Nodding under the mistletoe
(Pale-green, fairy mistletoe),
No footsteps came, no voice, but only,
Just as I sat there, sleepy, lonely,
Stooped in the still and shadowy air
Lips unseen - and kissed me there.

Combine water and creamer. Add butter. Bear 30 seconds.
Add sugar, vanilla, eggs and salt. Beat at high speed 1-2 minutes. Set aside.
In non-greased casserole dish place 1-1/2 cup mixture and sprinkle with raisins. Add 4 slices bread cut 1" x 1".

Blonde, "I'm on the road a lot, and my clients are complaining that they can never reach me."
Psychiatrist, "Don't you have a phone in your car?"
Blonde, "That was a little too expensive, so I did the next best thing. I put a mailbox in my car."
Psychiatrist, "Uh ... How's that working?"
Blonde, "Actually, I haven't gotten any letters yet."
Psychiatrist, "And why do you think that is?"
Blonde, "I figure its because when I'm driving around, my zip code keeps changing."
