The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

No, it's Bob, and I'm a Dark Lord.

(No, it's not Jen. But I like being Jen)

It's actually Bob, short for Bob.

I will tell you that if I really was named Jen, it wouldn't be short for Jennifer. Funny, I dislike my actual name, but my legal name (long version of my usual name) I like quite a bit. So...

I've actually considered changing my name when I go to grad school. Since my family will never, ever manage to get on board with a totally different name... wonder how complicated that would get?

I doubt I'll actually do it. Just... wonder what it would be like to walk into a room and introduce myself as someone other than who I am.

I have name resentment problems... my current name is better than the little-girl version I had for years. I've fought to be called what I want to be called since I was twelve. My grandmother still blatantly ignores my wishes...

My real name is, apparently, Greek. By way of like every country in Europe.

Is your name Tiberius? Or Maximus?

I know a Trekkie who named his firstborn son "James T." It wasn't "Tiberius", but honest, I swear, James T.

You should probably be aware of that disembodied crawling hand.
Other than that, you're safe.

You're of the Dark Lords, you're perfectly safe.
Send an underling to deal with the hand.
(Or, keep it as a pet in a fish tank. It's kinda funny watching it scramble around.)

My "official" name is Ronald.

yeck

Reminds me of the clown, ya know? That is what kids called me during school.Hated it.

I unofficially changed it to Ragnvald, which is Scottish for "Warrior". :) Ragn for short.

..or you can call me Hob Bramble from Hardbottle!

"Jen and the Dark Lords" would be a good name for a rock band.
