Yes...boybcott everything. If you had actually bothered to read your copy of, "What Every Good FReeper Who is TRULY Conservative Should Boycott, Edition 534, with new subsection zz7866" you would have discovered that all you can really do at this point is live in a cardboard shack contemplating how eeeeviiiillll the world is.

Oh wait...this just in....the CEO of Cardboard USA attended a Pearl Jam concert! BOYCOTT CARDBOARD TOO!!

Nah, the cardboard is made in China these days. We're supposed to live in good American-made cardboard.

I don't care.

I enjoyed the hell out of the "Fellowhsip of the Ring" and look forward to seeing "The Two Towers" and "Return of the King".

And then I'll go buy 'em on DVD too, just to piss you off.

Thanks. I have actually really seen good come of people viewing this film and it seems sad that so many don't want to use it as such. It opens a wonderful avenue of discussion to an age group, late teens and early 20's, that we as conservatives should be trying to educate.

But what about Sean Astin, who plays Sam Gamgee in LOTR? Are we allowed to support him? Or is it your position that if there is anyone anywhere in the cast or crew of a movie that expresses an anti-American position, we're not supposed to watch it? Gimme a break.
'Celebs' Use Stardom to Promote Army

...

"There's a lot of different people and voices in America, and I don't mind letting my voice be heard," Astin said during an interview conducted at the Pentagon. "I learned from reading about Vietnam that no matter what you think politically about certain deployments, as a good citizen and a patriot it's your duty to appreciate that there are soldiers using their lives on your behalf as a citizen."

Although many may know that Astin has appeared in more than 25 motion pictures, few know that he has served as a civilian aide to the secretary of the Army since 1995. He served under Togo West, Louis Caldera and now the current Secretary of the Army Thomas White.

For protocol purposes Astin, as a civilian aide, is ranked just below a three-star general and is considered to be the secretary of the Army's personal representative in the California region. Part of the basis of a CASA's appointment is his ability to increase the public's understanding of the Army, and Astin said he tells the Army story to anyone who wants to know it.

"I'm in a position where I do whatever I can to support the Army," Astin said. "I've visited installations, and took the time to write 'thank-you' letters to business who had reserve-component soldiers to be mobilized."

hopefully he'll choose more wisely in the future on who his co-stars are...We did not say the things his co-stars said, THEY did. We salute Mr. Astin, but won't endorse LOTR because of the bad apple named Viggo.

You, of course, are free to do as you choose...We just report the facts, you decide.

so you are a coach? LOL

I certainly hope you are a drama teacher. We have taken a stance against anti-Americanism in Hollywood. Our $$ affords these celebs the platform from which to bash America. We aim to remove that platform. You do not have to agree with us, we just spread the info. You gotta love Viggo's allegiance to the UN. NOT.

So the Navy will use the LOTR as a recruiting video? :)

I think you probably just better NEVER go to a movie.... even if the actors in it are worth supporting, they probably have friends who aren't.

While you are at it.... How did your laundry soap vote?

No, I actually teach people to get real jobs in engineering related fields. You seem to have cornered the market on drama queen tactics around here today.

Sorry, but I find that thought process kind of idiotic. It's like not buying a certain car because the guy that screwed the dashboard together on the assembly line went to an anti-war rally on his day off. My decision of which movies to see or not to see is based on the movies themselves, not the political views of the actors, or the director, or the second assistant key grip.

You, of course, are free to do as you choose.

As are you, of course...

We just report the facts, you decide.

I've already decided to watch this movie as often as I can afford... probably at least 10 times, hopefully more. And buy both versions of the DVD. And the soundtrack. Good luck with your little boycott thingie!

You make an excellent point honey...

We would be far better served to reward the ~content~ of this film, and encourage studios to create more quality, wholesome films, than we would be to encourage the studio to do political litmus tests on actors.

Which does more damage, crap films with crap values? - or rallies an actor spoke at and no one noticed?
