DU Troll Zotted: Time to boycott Google

Type in "miserable failure" then click the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button and look what comes up.
How much longer are we going to have to put up with liberal bias in the media! It's bad enough that they have NPR...but Google??? If we can collectively force CBS to ban the Reagan television show...why can't we get Google to stop being a platform for the socialists?

Calm down. It's the anti- Bush blogger's (note singular) fault. The typed that in so many times when linking to Bush's bio, that that's Google reads it now.

Try typing in "Google sucks", and clicking on "I'm feeling lucky."

I am Feeling Lucky must have been hacked. It is an old news. Try typing in Weapons of Mass Destruction and hit I am Feeling Lucky button, NOT the Google search button. I don't think Googleanians have anything to do with it.

I wrote google a few days ago about this. They just sent me the following response:
Thank you for your note about our search results.
The particular case you refer to is the result of the dynamic nature of the Internet and Google's reliance on the web's link structure as part of our search calculation. The order and contents of Google search results are completely automated. No one hand picks a particular result for a given search query. Nor does Google ever insert jokes or send messages by changing the order of results. Occasionally, when a particular website is the subject of public attention, other sites begin linking to it. This may elevate its importance as gauged by our ranking software, which assigns a PageRank value based in part on who links to a given page.
Higher ranking in Google results may lead to more awareness, which may lead to more links and so on. One side effect of not using an editorial viewpoint to determine the ranking of results is that anomalies like this occasionally occur. We view such occasions as opportunities for us to learn more about how the web works and how to improve our algorithms for all searches in the future.
Thanks for taking the time to write to us.
Regards,
The Google Team

I can't buy that. You're telling me that if I repeatedly visited Deans site after useing the keyword "Loser" then Deans bio will come up?
To: Doomed2003

But Google is where I found this . . .

Personally, I don't get it either, but you're post is the fifth or sixth such post. The explanation I think they're using is that on the blogger's sites they link to Bush's official bio using those words.

Are we even sure it's an
anti-Bush blogger? Consider noöne normally types in "miserable failure" as a search; Except
hit "google search" instead of "I'm feeling lucky", and you will see that "miserable failure" is being used as a code-phrase for Bush on DeMockRat sites.
Someöne has just fiddled the google preferences so anyone looking for Bush-critical sites is instead directed to the WhiteHouse site.

It probably has nothing to do at all with google. Hits on google are manipulated by folks out there who have broken the code...
