It is a drilling auger. Everything's symmetric about the pic. Good job!

Here is one being painted.

I did some digging on my own tonight and determined that the Federal NEST Team does, in fact, have at least three helicopters at its disposal. I determined that the helo in the photo appears to be an MD-500E, which is a model commonly used in law enforcement. Finally, I learned that FirstEnergy owns three nuclear generation stations: Beaver Valley in Shippingport, PA; Davis Besse in Oak Harbor, OH; and Perry in Perry, OH. It appears that they may also still own the defunct Three Mile Island Unit 2 at Middletown, PA (the operational Unit 1 was sold to another utility by FirstEnergy's predecessor). Any of these 4 sites would be consistent with the appearance of the bare tree branches in the photo at this time of year. Apparently the Davis Besse facility has had numerous serious problems of late, so if the NEST Team was snooping around there, it might just be for accidental release of radiation or some standard monitoring.
All that being said, my impression is that it's just a big ol' drilling auger . . .

I'm sorry your biases color your judgment so.
The thread was not ticked for BREAKING NEWS in the first place.
It was ticked for EXTENDED NEWS among other categories.
The issue of the Associated Press's Bureau Chief asserting that the confidential FYIO MEMO raised the threat level functionally to RED for law enforcement personnel around the country is QUITE SUFFICIENT, IMHO for it to be in EXTENDED NEWS.
The prayer aspect is a whole other aspect of the message. You are welcome to scroll past that at whatever light speed you can muster with your buttons.
Enjoy your biases, they appear to be wound rather tightly around you.
I take even moderator preferences and personal requests seriously and certainly policy of FR seriously. That doesn't mean I take your interpretations of same seriously at all.

I appreciate your discernment and questioning.
We all need all the help we can get, IMHO. None of us individually sees 100% clearly in the dark glass.

Francis has responded to me personally before. Perhaps I'll ask him about this issue.

In THAT CASE,
It's even MORE of a mystery why a copter with a drilling auger would fly around a nuke plant for such a period of time in that fashion.
I doubt it was because they didn't know where they were or what they were doing.

The only nuclear plant around is the Arkansas Nuclear One reactor owned by Entergy located at Russellville. This plant would be about 65 air miles from my location. I don't know what they did with it after they dumped it on the airport grass. I just assumed that it was probably dumping it off so a truck could come pick it up.

That would be great, especially if somehow we could be pointed to some independent observation we could make that would bolster the credibility.

Unless the pic was taken in my area its a little odd that the helicopters would be exactly the same. Unless there is a company that does the hauling nationwide for drilling augers or unless that particular brand was used industry-wide to haul augers.

Well sorry that bird appears to be a hughes 520 ( could be wrong ) but the is no way in hell it could lift that steel auger you show in the pict.
To: Arkinsaw
I'm sure your perspective is plausible.
I'm not convinced it's the ONLY plausible perspective.

I don't fault them the CYA. From that perspective, it's a no-win if they don't take some steps, however fruitless they may seem. There is at least solid attempts at coordination between agencies. What would you have them do? And, what sheeple are in pens because HomSec sends out warnings? If anything, the sheeple turn only a glazed eye to what's going on around them unless they are stuck with a pin and made to wake up and pay attention.

I'll email him shortly.
I don't know how much of another source he can cite.
All the people close to the inner White House prayer circles that I've met have been very, very, very cryptic and mostly uninformative about such things.
This, of course, because of the rabid hostile-to-God folks with such shrill voices in the opposition and media.
But he should be able to say whether or not he's check this out in any detail at all.
Whether he will be too busy to respond to my query or not is another matter.

I have a few friends that work for Homeland Security. Talk about a gravy train....
To: Walkingfeather
That was my immediate feeling, thought, too.
And even augers a lot smaller would not have been something a copter pilot would have been gleefully willing to have flown with in the manner described.

>>>
The gummint issues these warnings to keep the sheeple in their pens and also as a CYA<<< Now Fred, why would the gummint do that. Would your Dad make such a blatant misrepresentation, or was he kept in his pen like you seem to think you are.
Your powers of analysis do not do you proud. I'm sure your Dad would have done better.
