In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....
osculate \ohs*cue*late\, verb:
osculated, osculates, osculating; transitive, intransitive verb
osculation; noun
deosculate, deosculation; (fondly)
exosculate, exosculation; (vigorously)
1. To kiss..
2. Mathematics: To have three or more points coincident with.
3. To come together; contact.
A Plain Old Kiss
Some people need a peck or two;
For others a simple smooch will do;
Too many, a graze will stimulate;
A few may want to osculate.
And then, there are those who need a smack,
For flowery words they have a knack.
But all I want from you is bliss,
Which you can give me with a plain, old kiss!
- Arr. Ara John Movsesian Etymology [Latin scul r , scul t-, from sculum, kiss, diminutive of s, mouth. See s- in Indo-European Roots.]

Hi there...... yes I'm ready to dance but first we have to drive to Wilmington to get my car......it has been in the shop (after the deadly deer accident) since late October! sheesh......
My husband has already danced with me in the living room, so has my son.....lol....... but yes, we are planning to go out tonight!
Hope your holiday was wonderful!

Bite your tongue girl! lol..... we do NOT know losers around here!
Actually we are all dressing to head to Wilmington.... I will be SO glad to get my car back - I've missed that little turbo engine! lol

Yep, we had a pretty good one -- tandoori chicken and lamb vindaloo for dinner. :) Did your family have a fun one?
I never sleep well there, so I was kinda cranky this rainy morning. We did some shopping and then I begged to be let home. :)
How is the adorable xspup doing? Have you heard anything from the vet yet?

I still haven't decided on a birthday present yet and am open to suggestions. :)

yes the Tgiving was nice, quiet. we ate late though, so no time for that nap. i was in bed by 9 pm though, knowing that we had to get the pup to the vet for 7 am, and the boys had left the house for xsboy's hockey game by 5:30 am. Good thing we are generally early birds in this house!

Sheesh - that's a long time for it to be in the shop.
had a wonderful day yesterday. My SIL who lives in SF is home for the week, so we had a nice visit and the 2 SIL's will be coming down here next week. The one from SF didn't realize just how close we do live to Dover and thought we were ging to be spending the night last night.
You have fun tonight - and danceone for me - I don't remember the last time I had a chance to go dancing.

no word from the vet yet, i don't know what time they do surgeries. no one was there yet when we brought him in, except the receptionist and one vet tech. it is kind of lonely w/o the pup dogging my every step. when they say the phrase, following you around like a little puppy dog, that is extremely accurate. if i move, he gets up!

Yeah, but the best part is that they do this stuff indoors -- whether it's frying turkeys or setting off low-grade fireworks.

Where has your car been? I haven't had a car since June 30, 1999 and haven't driven one since early 2000. But I still keep my license. Hehehehehe. :)

Ever since last summer (2002) when a friend let her play on the piano she has wanted one and to learn to play.
since the house is kind of small and we don't know how long the interest will last we are going to get her an electric keyboard and I've already looked into lessons. If she enjoys the keyboard and does want to learn we'll start taking her for lessons after the first of the year.

Oh wow. I am *so* not an early bird! Whenever I have to be up early, I usually get my dad to call me -- he's an early bird and I tend to turn off my clock radio. :)

My husband drove my car to North Carolina the 22nd of October for the 20th Reunion of Beruit Veterans..... he was just into Delaware when he hit a deer...... my car has been in a shop down there all this time!
To: xsmommy
Well, he won't be gone for very long. He is *such* a cutie! Most of the ones in my building are downright fugly. A lot of them look like subway rats that someone cleaned and poofed up a bit. :)

I have the same problem - but neither of mine are little puppy dogs!!!
I'm tripping over one or the other of them when ever I get up, if I'm not tripping over Jax.

Tell me about it! When I was in high school and then during college/grad school vacations, I used to work part-time in an Emergency Room -- and almost always on the weekends and holidays. The most *fun* was always July 4th weekend. < RME > Darwin in full effect...

Well, at least he can't blame you for it! :)
Just like whenever my dad makes a screw-up, I laugh at him and point out that if *I* had done it, he'd be yelling at me like there's no tomorrow. :)
