~The Dragon Flies' Lair V~

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guides
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Hello all at the Dragon Flies' Lair.
Mmmmm! I spy chok-lit donuts and coffee! Just what the doctor ordered on a chilly night like this.

Heya ms. feather.
*giggle* It took a bit to get here but I made it. That's what I get for missing so much time at FR....waaaaay behind on everything.

Glad you like the dragonfly. You're quite welcome! :-)

A Touch of Winter

Beautiful frozen waterfalls line the road cut cliffs
Naked of their leaves the trees are blanketed with snow
a touch of winter white is everywhere to be seen

The chill in the wind makes the scene complete
with it brings flurrys of dancing snowflakes
they tease gently at the windows

All the beauty melts into the odd shaped drop of moisture
I watch as it changes and slowly rolls away
I ponder what it all means

perhaps it is a lesson in life
that nothing of superficial beauty lasts forever
but the memory of the beauty always survives

Raining my way as well.
Seems the so called 'heat wave' we have is enough for rain, but not enough for the snow to melt...

Well, Dark here in the city it's a different story from the rural areas. I'm sure they have plenty on the ground and most certainly in the woods.

This and That

FAVONIAN

Favonian is defined as of or pertaining to a west wind.

A FAMILY THAT FLIES TOGETHER...

A rarity in birds, geese are among the very few in which
the family stays together at the end of the breeding
season. Parents and the young raised during the summer
establish strong family bonds and do not break up for
about a year. In the fall, geese migrate in flocks
that contain other family units, and each family stays
together on the wintering grounds.

Allright SAM. Let me tell you something about those of us stuck in the freezing weather of the midwest and east, we like to hear about the tropics during the winter. :)
