My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guides we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

To: bentfeather
meet you in the
ghosty hollow
The headlights play back and forth
Reflecting off the walls
Of my empty soul
Deflecting off my broken heart
And shining into empty eyes
Your face, oh, love, your face
Which brightens my days
And illuminates my nights
Even now

subliminal enemy
There you lie buried in the undertow,
crashing against my skull,
o bestir my private sleep, when I so need to escape.
I am so tired of you sapping my strength,
walking through my guts, on your trip up the subliminal,
where you dig the bunkers with camouflage,
made from soft hands killing with kindness,
then you set to bury the grenades of war,
in the safe zone of consciousness.

I wonder why
After all this time
When I should feel hate
I don't.
I wonder why When you have broken my heart
All I feel
Is more love than yesterday.
I wonder why
When the day is so hard to face
Your face
Is the first thing I see in my dreams.
I wonder why When the night is so long
Your face
Is the last thing I see before I sleep.
I wonder why
I can't let go
And I wonder why
I have no wish to let go.

The paint has dried
cracked and worthless
canvas stained and ragged
the cards no longer hold
the magic
moonlight
has dimmed to
misty fog
but your image
faded on the old
canvas brightens
the candle times
and I drink to two
and laugh for one
To: Darksheare
You here Dark??
To: bentfeather
You left the plans on my desk
Our dream house
"Be prepared," you said.
"They'll call all the time.
Builders, you said.
"They'll drive us crazy "Asking us what we want."
Now I stand in the darkened place
Where our dreams were built
And where I now, alone, stand guard.
You are not here.
But in my mind, you're at my side
And there you will stay
Until the light shines again
On our love
In our house.

You left me
tumbled, tossed
losing my bearings
aching for air
sky and song
losing my bearings
aching for air
shy and song
soul strings
Silent
Heart
Hungry
Starless universe
I allowed you
to steal
me from me
forsaken
empty to
the gut!
Never More!

"Be prepared," you said.
"They'll call all the time.
Be prepared, you said,
They'll call all the time
I guess you meant the dreams
of sand castles and sunsets
sunrises on sandy beaches
holidays fun and sun,
I didn't know about
the other life you had
in another country
or that my dreams
would turn sepia tone
or I would be amoung
the walking wounded
standing under stars
between two by fours
of empty rooms
unfinished business
left in ashes...
Do you dream good dreams?
To: bentfeather
Do you dream good dreams? Do you dream good dreams?
When each night
I'm reduced to praying you'll be in mine
In some way
Any way
That will put your sweet face
Close to mine
Do you dream good dreams?
Do you dream of the day
You were unabashedly, gloriously mine
And what you said that day?
And what you wrote that night?
So close
So tantalizingly, amazingly close
And now
The wreckage of dreams faded
In the morning light

Winter's Playmates

Winter's Playmates
Children are a sight to see
In the winter time.
Fun and games in the snow,
Happiness sublime!
Priceless homemade sleds they tote
Up those treacherous hills;
Just to coast back down again,
Oh! those winter thrills!
Round and round the lake they skate
Blades all sparkling bright;
What fun it is to slip and slide,
Ooh! - feel that icy bite!
Through the air those snowballs fly
Splattering here and there;
Just to be rolled up again
And thrown without a care!
Winter holds fun of a special kind
Touching all in a different way;
But you can bet your boots...for sure;
It's with children that winter plays!

Hi Sam!!
LOL you beat me into The Lair this morning!
To: SAMWolf
Sam,
I am loving all the tunes today! A wonderful selection.
The Music Box dancer is one of my favorites. The poem today is lovely, too.
Thanks so much.
To: bentfeather
