Hope you have the feed.....game preview:

USC

has one of the top 3 total offenses in the nation. They have an excellent receiver corps, along with a pretty good running game. Their Sophomore quarterback has statistics that are better this year than last year's Heisman trophy winner Carson Palmer. They have a good running game, alternating 3 different backs that confuse defenses with their differing styles. Their offensive line is good, and they put defenses in a difficult place because of the balanced attack.

A total package, second to none.

Their defense sports the #2 D against the run in the nation. They are good against the pass, but not great. their strength is in their defensive line, but the linebackers and secondary are very good.

they are ranked #1 and are better than both Oklahoma and LSU, who will be playing in the official game for #1 in two days. Most foosball fans know this......but don't tell it to those respective schools.

The controversy is half the fun, although, like I said.....the best bowl game is today's Rose Bowl.

Michigan

The two offenses that are as good as USC are....Oklahoma, and Michigan (sorry LSU, you suck!). Michigan is led by its offensive line, and its running back Chris Perry. The big test for USC is whether to play the run, or play balanced. Nobody has shut them down, either way. The teams that beat Michigan never succeeded in shutting them down, just got lucky with special teams. The quarterback is highly undderrated. He has most of the school passing records, is a senior, and has a receiving corps that is as good as USC.

Defensively, the team has no all-Americans........yet they are fast, hit hard, and play well as a unit.......a lot like the old no-name defense of the old Miami Dolphins USC has not played against a defense this good, so this should be a fun thing to watch.

Special teams bonus....Michigan is not great in punting, USC is. Michigan has an incredible run back threat in Steve Breaston, who may never get a chance because of USC's great punter.

Michigan is ranked fourth......they lost two games early because of a stupid special teams coach that tried a terrible punting scheme that lost both games. They seemingly have solved that, and have been on a tear since mid-season.

Both teams have an edge and feel dissed. USC has a home game.

Official line is USC by more than a touchdown, I call it a toss up with USC having the edge......Last one who scores wins......I expect it to be USC, but, like all good conservatives will root for Michigan.

Game of the decade coming up....don't miss it. Top ten reasons to root against USC:

Barbra Streisand likes them
All of Hollywood adores them
Hillary and Bill think they grew up in Southern Cal.
Tony Coelho and Terry Mcawful did
Have you heard their fight song? You will understand
Their girl cheerleaders sound like Jeannine Galafaro
Their boy cheerleaders act like they belong in Will and Grace.
their team thinks it deserves an oscar
Their greatest alum is OJ

drumroll.....

Any team whose mascot (the Trojan) gets handed out for free by Planned Parenthood to teenagers deserves to be booed!

So anyone who chooses to root with Pup against the underdog Woverines will have some splainin to do!

Go Blue!

Hi Sharkey,

We got the USC - Michigan feed, and in spite of your well reasoned explaination of why not to root for the Trojans, the wifey and I were glad to see the Wolverines get their butts kicked.

I always like to see west coast teams win, mainly because eastern sports writers never give the west credit for even being able to play the game. This goes back a looong way, even Seabiscuit's talent was ignored in favor of eastern seaboard horses...until the War Admiral match race.

USC...National Champions!

I call it a rout. What was that score again?
