Your choice is gonna be to swallow Giuliannis position on abortion, or to swallow all of Hillaries views on everything, because the bullpen is empty. Any other pubbie would be lucky to carry 10 states against her.
We spend so much time on FR we forget how very popular she still is. She is the most admired woman in the US, beating out Oprah and Laura Bush. There is no way we can beat her without a candidate who can energize the non republican middle of the road voter to get off his ass and go vote because they really admire the candidate. There is no other Republican that the non republican middle of the road voter has even heard of.

Hogwash. Those polls say what they want them to say. There are an awful lot of Republicans who would get out and vote just to vote against Hillary, no matter who she was running against. For that matter, there are a lot of old-time RAT voters who will vote against her, not to support the Republican candidate, but because her negatives are still very high and there are a lot of democRATs that don't want to see the Clintons back in the White House. they may not admit it publicly, but they are an embarassment to many individual voters. I won't underestimate her, but I won't give her too much credit either. Even a dragon has a weak spot that if hit will bring him down. We need to focus on finding her weak spot and exploiting it.
And total disdain from 40% of the electorate.
but, yes, it will be tough for us if someone doesn't come up who is very charismatic and capable on their feet.
Their are some huge cracks in the Dem party. The Dean war is just beginning, and it's not gonna be pretty for a lot of reasons. I'm not sure she will be able to be the healer and re-take the mantle.
Heaven help us if she succeeds in actually putting the party together without a huge fight.
The best news I see is that she is really not nearly as skillfull in playing to mid-America as Slick was, no...she's actually bad at it so far, and I'm not sure mid-America is ready to be fooled by a second Clinton pretending to be conservative.
