And NY doesn't see a problem even though one came to them.

I'm not sure I'd say they don't see a problem .. but I do agree they don't see the WHOLE picture

Some don't pay attention .. others believe whatever Peter Jennings tells them

Eventually they need to make a physical attempt to confiscate our guns.

California is working at it by making it very difficult to own guns. Many rifles that are legal in the rest of the US can't be owned here. If it's not a bolt action, it has to meet some very narrow requirements to be legally possessed. Handguns are following suit. By 2006, there will be no handguns that will be legal for purchase if they don't have BOTH a magazine disconnect and a loaded chamber indicator. Used handguns that are not on the "Not Unsafe" list cannot be legally purchased unless you can find a state resident who has one and is willing to sell it you, and you must go through an FFL for the purchase. Used firearms that are not on the list (certain desirable ones, anyway, like older Smith and Wesson Revolvers) are getting hard to find and expensive when you do stumble across one (private party, of course). The latest proposal in the state legislature is collecting information on ammo purchasers - thumbprint, date of birth, name and address, and "other specified information" as stated in the bill. The legislature is full of gun grabbers, and we have no assurances that Schwarzenegger will veto any of these onerous bills if they make it to his desk. I spend a lot of my time emailing, faxxing and calling these bozos in the state legislature. Sometimes we stop a measure, sometimes we don't. It's getting very depressing. I often wonder what some of the now-dead WWII veterans would think if they could see what's happened to our country.

Dang....after all that posting activity....

It's still Nully's fault.

I have a very responsible position.

Any time something's wrong, I'm responsible...

I had to try to explain the Aztlan thing to someone recently.
They didn't get it, didn't want to get it, and didn't care, didn't care to see the danger.

Personally, it scares the hell outta me.
Even the cover of Lowrider magazine declared 'Aztlan' as a 'land' unique to itself .(2002 cover featuring a horrendous purple chopped car)
*UGH*

It's okay.
I wasn't quite clear in my post.
*scratches head*
I gotta slow down and look at what I'm typing to make sure it makes sense.

Even though NY state lost about 3000 lives on 9/11, they seem to be wrapping themselves into a zone of denial, saying that what happens elsewhere in the country doesn't effect them.

Holy cow. That attitude is pretty prevalent here on the left coast. Many people are more concerned about Korea having nukes because they are worried that the nukes can reach "us" here, meaning the West coast. I've heard people say that what happened in New York with the attack was something that happened to "them", when challenged about the attack on us, collectively. Oh, No, WE weren't attacked, that was New York.

Oh. I see.

You have. I'm thinking about the ones that died long ago, and haven't seen the decline. Sorry about not being clear. I know what my dad thought, and he died 13 years ago.

I guess there's several different groups in NY that all subscribe to different views.
There are som eso heavily in denial about everything that I'm not sure anything can ever be done to bring them around short of them witnessing a terrorist nuke going off on Wallstreet.
There are those who recognise trouble, but are too scared.
Then you got the mouthy VERY minority group like myself who are likely on a list and will end up being actively hunted 'when it all goes down.'

But NY is a fractious wasteland of non-thought apparently.

"They didn't get it, didn't want to get it, and didn't care, didn't care to see the danger"

And that is a big part of the problem. I have run into that as well. It's like, "I'm comfortable with my delusions; please don't disturb me with facts and realities."

Ouch.
Sounds like some of the crap that Chuckles Schumer is trying to shove down everyone's throats.
The only thing in his way are hunters, but they don't hunt with pistols or the supposed machine guns that Chuckles goes on about, so they see no problem.

"I've heard people say that what happened in New York with the attack was something that happened to "them", when challenged about the attack on us, collectively. Oh, No, WE weren't attacked, that was New York."

Pretty revealing of the disconnect between the left coast and the rest of the country.

Mo, revolutions always work. It's a matter of definition. A revolution is a success, a revolt is a failure...

If they died during the war, they didn't live to see the decline at least...A lot of times I've wished I had went then....

Just means you're around to offer advice and be the mind behind the action when the dust fight comes down.
I suspect that should things go REAL bad, we'll need all the people who saw combat we can get our hands on as, for lack of a better term, 'consultants.'

It makes me sick to think of those who sacrificed their lives fighting for freedom, to see where we are headed these days.
